Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.
I just love you guys.
I am so humbled by all of you.
They say “you can’t pick your family”.
Wanna bet me I can’t?
:)
You're too late. We already picked you and you're stuck with us.
;-)
Hi Brad’s Gramma,
Thank you for all you do throughout the year for so many people who are in trouble. I love how all the Freepers come together to offer prayer for those who need it so badly. We hope PastorBooks will take your advice. We have to believe we are here for a reason. We may not know what it is but...it will be revealed to us soon enough.
Christmas blessings and Happy New Year to you and yours. Keep up the good work. You are a “Freeper Angel!” :)
Some might even say "appropriately protective".
Christmas miracle at 11:42 pm Christmas day.
Made my day.... I meant to tell you I adopted a fawn Dobie who was stunning - had that blue weimeraner hue with bronze points. But she was a runaway. And she ran away. Still miss her.
LOL
[he’s still smug]
I’m so sorry....:(
My teen-years Wonder Dobe died at the vet on my 23rd birthday in 1984.
My mom called me and said “Your dog died. Happy birthday.”
Not a day goes by.....
Oh no!
;]
Today is my birthday and I am firing off artillery (mortars) into the sky above the lake because it looks pretty and I like the bang.
Waiting for my neighbor to return the volley - he's rich and usually starts the 'war', but I beat him to it today.
I think I like dobes more than any other breed, having briefly 'rented' one. She looked like this:
But was a year old. Smart, incredibly protective dog.
Never allow yourself to be the bigger person and expose yourself to someone whose mere presence undermines your emotions, spirit and soul.

Great advice for keeping a healthy ego and I wish I had learned that lesson earlier. Youth really is wasted on the young. LOL
[yes, that's him with the red ribbon, hogging the best "faucet"]
She had one of the finest, richest Isabella coats I've ever seen. [I'm sure you know about the "issues"]
His daddy Konan was a BB dominant and no matter what color Dobe you breed to him, you get black pups, *always*.
Obviously, they're my favorite breed, too. [like ya didn't notice]...LOL
Happy birthday!
Today is my Ibizan Hound Djinn's birthday, too.
She's five years old today....:)
[so far she hasn't shot off any mortars or rockets in the living room yet but she's got another 3 1/2 hours to go before it's not her birthday anymore so ya never know]...;-D
“Youth really is wasted on the young. LOL”
Gad...ain’t the truth.
/gets half naked and starts singing “If I Could Turn Back Time”....LOL
“Shar”
Edit:
Ain’t THAT the truth.
[sheesh...the first thing that goes is your mind, I tell ya what]...LOL

The first thing that goes is innocence. The last to go is your mind. But I’m confusing things. hehe
Yes, my Isabella rescue actually came with papers!
I still have the papers, but not the Dobe that goes with them :(
She would lay on top of the comforter between me and my daughter, and when the school alarm went off, I’d tell her ‘wake her up’ and she would lick her awake. Imagine a grumpy teen being slurped awake. But she always woke up and big-hugged that Dobe
every morning.
My brother is a master trainer of dogs. His ‘Rope’, a blue heeler, and my dobe went NUTS against each other. It was crazy, I’d had the dobie girl two weeks and she was ready to take him down, a family dog for years.
I’m glad Dobes have maintained the nobility bred into them hundreds of years ago!
?
[an hour and a half left and still no pyrotechnics...she's asleep beside me...I think the danger has passed]....;-D
That’s just weird.
I wonder where she went?
Normally you can’t *make* a Dobe leave its family.
Odin has taken up the role of Living Room Law Enforcement.
Gypsy the Portuguese Podengo Medio will “claim” the entire dog sofa and Djinni will stand and shriek-bark at her interminably because she wants up.
[it almost makes your ears bleed]
Odin will lay here looking up at me, grumbling and when I say “Go make ‘em stop” he leaps off the sofa and BARKS in their faces and freaks the crap outta the both of them.
Gypsy stops being a tyrant and Djinni gets her sofa spot back.
Then he struts back over to me, all proud of his bad self...LOL
He doesn’t slurp me awake...he takes his big nose and pokes me...or worse yet, shoves his slimy, recently chewed rawhide roll upside my cheek.
-That’ll- wake the dead, believe me.
*yuck*
Yes, you are.
Stop befuddling old ladies....:))
You need a hug too? LOL
At least New Mexico is closer. I can meet you half way from San Jose.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
