List of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction

For movies, of course, there’s “A.I.” and “The Day After Tomorrow.”
I really enjoyed “Fallen Angels”. Especially the Earth-First police cracking down on inappropriate technology people use to keep warm while glaciers threaten the Northern tier cities. A very prescient book.
Try the Twilight Zone: Midnight Sun.
Centigrade 233
I remember a short story about a migratory group of humans who have been migrating south for centuries, ahead of a wall of glaciers. They have lost all of their culture, but carry a ‘sacred’ metal box, the last remnant of their lost civilization. Ahead of them they see a gleaming on the horizon, and it finally turns out to be from a wall of glaciers moving north to meet them.
Years later alien scientists exploring the uninhabited frozen Earth find the metal container, which contains movie film, preserved by the cold. The rest of the world is hopelessly buried under the ice, nothing else from the lost civilization has been found. The alien scientists reverse engineer motion picture projection to view the film and see the dead civilization come to life. What they see is very strange, and involves a birdlike creature having fights and collisions in his motor vehicle. The movie ends by circling around the creatures squawking face with the undecipherable words ‘A Walt Disney Production’. I do not remember the author or title.
There was a very interesting story about Neanderthals who had an entire civilization built out of ice - in diferent forms. They had cities, “airplanes”, and spacecraft also built of ice. When the ice melted all traces vanished, along with the Neanderthals, except for a few suvivors who we find traces of today.
