What a nation of sissies we have become, afraid of a little knife. I always used to carry my Swiss Army Knife on-board, to fight off the Muslim terrorists if need be. Now, everyone’s quivering and cowering, and I won’t fly anymore in this “brave new world.”

When I was a kid I used to go to summer camp up in Maine. It was considered "cool" for the campers to own their own axes for chopping firewood. I used to carry mine onto the plane with me without any problem.

I guess that wouldn't work too well these days.

A little before 9/11, I was going through security, removed my Buck Ultralight lock blade serrated 3” blade knife from my pocket and placed it in the hand of the gate security guy, walked through X-ray and retrieved my Buck Ultralight lock blade serrated 3” blade knife from the hand of the same security guy. A few years later, a TSA guy confiscated a 2mm Allen wrench from my bag.

I typically either mail a pocketknife to my destination or purchase a cheap one upon arrival.

Wow! No, I suppose not, for the non-Muslims anyway...
