Ah, come on now, atheists have “ethics”!

They’re not based on anything, so can change as the situation changes, but they have them!

Pretty offensive implication, since I can’t think of a single Christian who as ever done ANYTHING immoral...

Let an atheist tell you a story. Talking to the wife one evening after a visit to the store I always go to, and she asked me for some cash - I normally don’t carry much, but I stick my hand in my pocket and pull out a $50. Where’d that come from? I’d been at the store earlier and had gotten 5 bucks change and the clerk mistakenly gave me a $50 and I didn’t notice. I go back to the store and go up to the service counter and ask for the night manager so I can return the money. I begin to explain the situation and he starts shaking his head saying, “no, no, no... I can’t do anything...” thinking I’m trying to scam him. Again I try to explain, this isn’t MY money, it’s HIS - I just want my five dollars. “No, no, no...” I folder the fifty in half, set it on the counter and walked out. By the time I got home, the store had called. They finally figured it out and found out who I was from the receipt (I used my check card), and were calling to apologize, “I’m very sorry, it’s just so unusual for something like this to happen”, was what he said. I told him that I didn’t know what to think, but an honest person is more likely to see honesty in others, and he could think about that until the next time he sees me. That was about 15 years ago, and to this day, that man (he’s now the district manager) calls me by name (as do about half the other folks that work there) when I go to that store and reminds me how happy his company is to have me as a customer. No god involved.
