Swedish fighter jet tows sledges – YouTube video

A Swedish fighter jet was used to tow three toboggans in a plane crazy stunt.

This sledging clip on YouTube has really taken off

Yep, it's snow joke - with the Mission Impossible theme playing in the background the jet powers along a snow-covered part of an unnamed airbase pulling three riders who are all dressed in pilots uniforms.

What would have happened if the pilot at the controls of the plane – a Saab Viggen - had engaged the afterburners by accident doesn’t bear thinking about. Some seriously quick panning would have been required by the cameraman.

The astonishing clip has become a YouTube sensation, having clocked up nearly 70,000 hits.

The Royal Air Force commented to Metro.co.uk that there’s no chance of such a crazy stunt being repeated on British soil – mainly because it hasn’t got any jets left to perform one.

So we can be thankful to the Swedes for providing us with some much-needed jet-powered Christmas merriment.

Interesting that they can get away with this.

Intersting, but I so hate how every article in the UK is written with lame-ass puns. And 70,000 hits is not quite a “sensation”. I’ll bet the writer was sent the link by a friend and decided he had to do something to make a deadline.

That is funny. Just goes to show that there are red-necks in Europe also. It might have been better if the guys on the sleds were dressed in Santa costumes.

From the front it looks like a F-4 Phantom II but the profile and aft views say no (at least to my eye). I did not know the Sweeds had used the Phantom. Is it a knock off manufactured by SAAB?

Our troops are getting killed and pawned by the muslim. Yesterday they got a wrose Christmas present. Keep watching TV and support Hollywood because all of TV and Hollywood support Hussein including Prince Al Waleed’s Fox.

I give the Swedes credit they do not elect Muslims to run their country.

I guess Christmas has not been banned there yet. It is in banks in the United States thanks to the muslim.

I recall reading about 10 years ago, an AP blurb in the paper how
SAAB, with a flyby during a sales presentation, managed to burn
some of the would-be customers with jet exhaust.

It must have been some flyby to do that.

Pretty funny. I honestly can't imagine any pilots doing something like this. They are such a serious bunch.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was an F-4 from the front view also. The exposure was so bad I couldn’t tell if the horizontal stabilizers were pitched down or not. But as it turns you can clearly see not. Probably a European plane designed around the same era and mission.
