Working the day shift out of burglary division, Friday and Smith are assigned to find a statue of baby Jesus stolen from the oldest church in Los Angeles dating from 1781, The Old Mission Church at Sunset Boulevard and Main. They meet at the Church with Father Rojas and get the details. Next, they go to a pawn shop run by Mr. Flavin. Then they meet with alter boy Joe Heffernan. He gives them a lead on Claude Stroop. Jesus is finally returnned by a little Mexican boy who had taken him for a ride in his brand new red wagon.

Miss Kitty invites Matt and Chester for a drink. Jethro Beeker comes to Matt demanding that he arrest a couple who have taken over his barn. He claims that they entered during a blizzard and shot at him. It turns out that the "couple" happens to be his 21 year old daughter Harmony and her husband Will Ross. Jethro disowned Harmony when she married Will two years ago and Jethro wants Matt to treat them "like any other criminals". Matt reluctantly goes to evict the young couple. Will says they were on their way to Dodge when they sought shelter from the weather in the barn. He is determined to keep his pregnant wife sheltered during the snow storm. She is expecting any minute. Matt sends Chester to get Doc. Doc arrives in time to help in the delivery of a baby boy. Jethro is still adamant about having the couple thrown off his property, but he melts when it finally sinks in that he now has a grandson. He shakes hands with Will. It is 4 A.M. when Matt, Chester and Doc leave for the Long Branch where Matt is sure that Kitty is waiting to share that drink with them.

12/25/49 "Magic Christmas Tree" (Colgate)(CBS)(29:42) Program #75 Eve Arden, Jane Morgan (Mrs. Margaret Davis), Richard Crenna (Walter Denton), Gale Gordon (Osgood Conklin), Gloria McMillan (Harriet Conklin), Jeff Chandler (Mr. Boynton) ; Writer - Al Lewis; Connie Spends Christmas Eve Alone. A Quiet Christmas At Home. Surprise Guests On Christmas Eve. ; Connie is reading "The Night Before Christmas" to Mrs. Davis' cat, Minerva, when someone is at the door. Miss Brooks buys a "Magic" Christmas Tree from a young urchin door-to-door salesman. Connie has mistletoe all over her residence when Osgood, Martha and Harriet Conklin, plus Walter Denton and Mr. Boynton show up. When Walter touches the Christmas tree something happens, and he tells Harriet she needs to be more like Miss Brooks. The tree seems to glow. When Mr. Conklin touches the tree he becomes fun-loving and happy go lucky. When Mr. Boynton touches the tree he becomes very amorous toward Connie. Then Connie wakes up. The doorbell rings, and the whole scene begins to play out again, people are saying exactly what they said in Connie's dream. She has Mr. Boynton touch the tree - nothing happens. Then the door bell rings again and it is the urchin selling Magic Christmas Trees. Connie buys for trees for $2.

12/25/43 "Nick Carter's Christmas Adventure" (Sus.)(MBS)(29:36) Lon Clark (Nick Carter), Helen Choate (Patsy Bowen), John Kane (Scubby Wilson) ; Director - Jock MacGregor ; Writer - Humphrey Davis ; Music - Lew White ; First Show - 4/11/43 ; Nick Carter and his assistant, Scubby Wilson, go to the home of Ben Rasper to ask for a contribution to his Christmas fund for the underprivileged children's party at Lincoln Hall. Mr. Rasper declines, and seems to hate Christmas. Carter decides to find out why Rasper hates Christmas with the idea of trying to do something about it. Fighter "Chris the Kid" O'Day pays a visit to Rasper, sent by Carter. Then, ex-wife Nina stops in to see Ben Rasper and wish him a Merry Christmas, adding that son Jimmy is full of life, while Ben looks tired. A flashback shows that Ben was more interested in business than his family, causing Nina to walk out on a previous Christmas. Old Fred Anderson, retired from the police force, is next to stop in to see Ben with some wine from Nick Carter. In flashback we learn that Ben is no longer at the fight arena, because they have decided to give Davis his job. He runs into Anderson, and says that he is going after the big money for himself. Back in the present Anderson asks him what the big money that he now has means to him. Anderson says that Nina and Jimmy will be at Carter's party. Rasper shows up at the party. Nick sends Patsy Bowen over to make him welcome. Nick tells officer Reilly to let Rasper give the present to his son, Jimmy.

12/24/49 "Miracle for Christmas" (Pillsbury)(CBS)(29:42) "Miracle for Christmas" Mason Adams (Mac), Ralph Clanton (Dr. Mason), Gilbert Mack (young father), Walter Grusay (Dr. Garrett), Madeleine Pierce (baby) ; Writer - Jay Bennett ; Music - Lew White & Burley Mills ; Narrator - Ken Roberts; from New York City ; Sponsor - Pillsbury Mills of Minneapolis' Best Enriched Flour ; Sixth consecutive holiday broadcast of this show. Dr. Mason from Albany arrives at the hospital and is led into Dr. Garrett's office. Garrett had received word that Mason has died in an automobile accident. Mason says that it must have been a mistake. Mason then goes around providing miracle cures, driven in an ambulance by cynical Mac on Christmas eve. At one point, Mac's beloved wife Ellie is in a coma, dying. Mac's faith is restored when Ellie recovers.
