What if Sarah doesn't run ? And why wouldnt she ?

Posted on 12/17/2010 9:36:35 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I have not posted a vanity for awhile now and I post this in good faith. I was thinking earlier about what the politcal lands would look like with Sarah Palin not in the next Presidential race.

I don't think it would be good.

I think she has a duty to run unless family reasons dictate otherwise. I hope and pray that she is not buying the media narritive that she is unelectable. I know she is a very smart person. But I hope she has more confidence than to give any thought to the idea that she might not be able to win. Any candidate might not be able to win. But you don't know until you try.

Other than family and personal reason. What are political reasons she shouldn't run in your opinion ?

I think the reason she should is short and simple. This country needs her and we are running out of time.

If she doesn,t run. I don't think I could stomach politics and I doubt I ever vote again. At one time I dreamed of serving in congress as a kid. But if we are a country where the media can destroy my politcal career and hurt my family. Why in the hell would I do it.

I am saying that Sarah Palin represents all of us underdogs and regular people. It would be demoralizing to the tea party and conservatives if 1. she doesnt run.. or 2. she lets the media define her image.

the stakes are too high for politics as usual.. I honestly feel like these are life or death moments for our country.

As I have said before there are many issues Palin needs to address before being considered a serious threat to Obama.

That said, if she doesn’t run, then what?

The media will rejoice and treat the field as they did in 2008, annoint someone and build them up and destroy them in the fall. Palin has already been destroyed by the MSM so there is no where to go but up.

If she doesn’t run it probably helps Hailey Barbour and Newt Gingrich more than anyone else. The also rans from 2008 are RINOs or nut jobs (Ron Paul}. It does give some oxygen to some long shots Herman Cain, John Bolton or some others who might jump in.

Finally, it frees up a lot of cash and voters with currently no where else to go.

Time as always will tell.

Mitt Romney, Karl Rove, and the rest of the old Rockefeller branch of the GOP have a plan in place to fill the gap.

what issues do you think she needs to address ?

I think she is doing a pretty good job right now for a potential candidate.

I think, and have always thought, that she knows she might very well lose the general, but as a ‘kingmaker’ she could have immense sway over who gets the nomination. I think she would put country above ego- the MSM could smear her, but she could make damn good and sure that the Republican nominee was a true conservative and do a lot to help them win; subsequently having a great deal of influence in the administration.
And still be young enough to run in 2020.

She is doing fine if you want to be the nominee and lose the general in a landslide.

Because she may understand that she is as much hated by those who voted Barry as she is loved by you. I don't see anyone who voted for him who has decided it was a bad call casting a vote for the candidate he defeated last time...too much to ask. Even though it was Mccain/Palin ticket it has always been percieved as Palin vs Obama. They will rally behing him once again only to avoid eating crow.

That and she has a great thing going right now

I think it would sad if someone with her God given gifts and abilities bets against her own politcal future and waves the white flag.

by not running.. coaching and picking players is not the same as picking up the ball and pitching an important game for our country.

She really needs to address her current standing among independents and Reagan Democrats as another Dan Quayle.

There is no one who can compare with Sarah Palin. It’s either Sarah or I vote Democrat.I will not vote for a Bob Dole again.

She needs to address the fact that among independents and Reagan Democrats she has been turned into the second coming of Dan Quayle.

She has to address the fact that she quit her job in Alaska before it was finished.

She has to address the fact that she has no substantive positions on issues prior to 2008.

I can go on but those are three issues right there.

Her Facebook posts are mostly platitudes or "America is awesome"... Yes, we all agree that America is good. But that isn't very deep.

The world after Obama will be a very dangerous place. We need some who knows what is going on.

“I’M smarter than Sarah Palin.”

Really? So you outfox the liberal media and the WH on a regular basis too?
