The Washington Redskins have decided to start Rex Grossman over Donovan McNabb at quarterback in Dallas on Sunday just a month after signing McNabb to a much-ballyhooed contract extension, according to multiple media reports, which cite anonymous sources.

Has nothing to do about vindication for Rush, McNabb’s age starting to catch up to him. His skills are starting to deteriorate.

The season’s over for the Skins. I’d rather they start Beck these last 4 games and see what he’s got. I hope McNabb is done for good and on his way out of town. We already know what Grossman has to offer and it’s not anything good.

This news is highly over-rated.

If this is true Mcnabb is ticked-off because:

An emerging journeyman is starting in front of him

This journeyman also has one Super Bowl appearance

Salivating over the Dallas secondary...only to be denied

Limbaugh might mention this on his show

Either way, it is another dumb move because McNabb is a good quarterback and a lot better than Grossman

Dan Snyder is the worst owner in the league.

Oh...I don't know about that. Ole Jerry's giving him a run for his money on that score! So at best he's second worst. ;)

McNabb had a number of productive years with the Eagles after Rush’s comments. McNabb led the Eagles to a superbowl after Rush’s comments.

Rush was 100% correct. McNabb was never anything but a mediocre QB. Never. Jeff Garcia was responsible for leading the eagles to the Superbow;l. All Donovan did was lose the game.

I’m not fan of Jerry’s but he does have a few rings on his fingers, you can’t take that away from him. I don’t see Snyder ever going to the big show.

McNabb sucked in Philly, he sucks in DC and he is the master of SUCK! I hate having this washed up Andy Reid reject on my team!

IMHO, about half the team in the NFL are starting a QB that has no business in the NFL, and it has been that way for a long time.

McNabb, in his prime, was not only a solid starting NFL QB, but one of the better starting QBs. Was he in the same league as Peyton Manning or Tom Brady? No, but keep in mind those two will probably end up in most people’s top 10 all time NFL QB lists.

The press’s fawning over McNabb in his prime was no more than it’s current fawning ower Matt Ryan or Aaron Rogers. Two very good QB’s who are still a long way from being in the elite Mannin/Brady zone.

If the current fawning over the very good Ryan and Rodgers can’t be attributed to race, then the past fawning over a just as very good McNabb can’t be attributed to race. The fact is that if McNabb had of been white, they press would have fawned over him just as much, because (as can bee seen from the Ryan and Rodgers examples) that is simply what the press does with any very good QB (regardless of the color).

"A lot of these “long contracts with huge dollars” are actually a myth though,"

The signing bonuses Snyder pays to land these free agent dogs are no myth. (McNabb was a trade not a free agent pick up so he really doesn't go with this class but even he got a 3.5 million dollar signing bonus when he extended his contract with Washington last month)

This says it all about this yaers team and what Snyder has done to the brand! Over 40,000 empty seats at FED-EX last week...unheard of for a Skins game in the modern era, no matter what their record!

The Cowboys pass defense will make Rex look like Dan Marino.

You're forgetting the fact that Rex sucks.

McNabb led the Eagles to a superbowl after Rush’s comments.

Philly had a great defense back then. I'd say the defense led them to the Superbowl.

I would assume he is talking about getting traded in the division. lol!

Rush said he was overhyped (much like 0bama).. not that he was no good. He was critizing the NFL for labeling an above average QB as “elite,” not saying McNabb was a bad QB.

."Did you enjoy those three Super Bowls? I hope you did. I hope you did very much."

But seriously, Jerry is a great owner, he just sucks as a GM. But at least he does want to win, unlike the Lions owner who is happy just to get his share of the NFL profits.
