Fascinating! It’s mind boggling how we owe our very existence to what’s going on 1,800 miles below our feet. It’s every bit as important to us as the Sun, because without it, we would be a ‘dead planet’ just as Mars is.
It would be awesome to see what things look like in there. I’m still trying to imagine what an Iron/Nickel ball the size of our Moon must be like. lol

Buffett noted that the calculated field 25 Gauss is an average over the entire outer core. The field is expected to vary with position.
It's a calculation not a measurement.
