Sounds like your daughter had an inclination to have a negative opinion of it because it wasn’t distributed by Disney, for whatever reason, and that clouded her enjoyment of the movie, which is a shame. Walden Media did the first ones distributed by Disney just like they did this one that was distributed by 20th Century Fox, so there was no difference in the animation or who did the animation. It was always Walden Media - it did not go from Disney to Walden Media in who made the film. The distribution / financing just went from Disney to 20th Century Fox. That’s all.
It's Obama's fault. Movies would do much better if not for his lousy economy.
Mrs Bear and I enjoy seeing a movie without worrying that God’s name will be blasphemed.
It’s the MPAA ratings board, they’re notorious for being more afraid of sex than violence but also not getting innuendo at all. You can fill a movie with penis jokes but so long as nobody actually uses any of the normal slang words for penis you can get a PG. You can drop up to 4 f-bombs in a movie and get a PG13 so long as they’re only used as expletives not as references to fornication, but do it even once in reference to sex and you get an R. And that doesn’t even get into the “negotiation” process which leads to retarded things like 13 frames of a guy getting shot getting removed from Robocop to move it from X to R. By and large the MPAA ratings people don’t think, at all.
Between that line, and Ramandu's daughter saying of Aslan's table "It is FOR YOU" (with strong emphasis on the last two words) all of sacramentology that I had loved in the book was displayed...perhaps even better than in print, for it is difficult to show inflections and emphasis in the written word.
The filmaker turned the Anglican Lewis into a fine Lutheran, IMHO.
