I have a young friend who recently bagged a paid internship with one of these UN-connected NGO’s here inside the Beltway (he got it through “guanxi”—Mom and Dad are career diplos) This particular one is about supplying fuel efficient stoves to the Little Brown People.
He was all excited that half the outfit he’s now working at was partying it up (for the benefit of the Wretched of the Earth, of course) at Cancun last week. Our boy did his time on the staff of his congresscritter last year. Now he’s a graduate with his foot on the first rung of the D.C. ladder. Tomorrow the world! (or at least a junior position on the staff of the Deputy Assistant Undersecretary...)
Tonight I shall slaughter a bullock, make burnt offerings and annoint his forehead. Anyone up for a barbecue?
Good article; thanks for posting.
Anyone know where exactly all those awful (I’m trying to be kind) NGOs get their money from? Tax payer money or donations (private, corporate,...)?
Grounds for hope for the climate change agenda ( George Soros says...UN Needs the Money )
