ASPEN, Colo.- A couple in the Aspen, Colo., area say they found a bark scorpion in their house, hundreds of miles from and thousands of feet above its proper habitat.
Stanley Coriat says his wife was leaving the laundry room of their Summit Vista, Colo., home two weeks ago when she spotted a light brown scorpion trying to leave with her, The Aspen Times reported Sunday.
It was a bark scorpion, the most venomous of the species.
The range of the small bark scorpion is the Sonoran Desert and the desert Southwest.
Coriat told Eagle County health and human services officials but "I had to bring the scorpion to the community center before anybody would believe me."
Eventually, he contacted a wildlife biologist for the Aspen and Sopris Ranger Districts, who confirmed the creature was a bark scorpion.
But how it ended up where it did remains a mystery, the Times says.

Is it’s bite worse than it’s bark?

I see dead scorpions around our house fairly frequently. A live one will be converted to a dead one by my foot.
Why didn’t she just squash this one and get on with life?

Wandering scorpions - that's what they do.
Maybe the batteries in his GPS died.

LOL...that’s not even a good photo shopped pic..had me going there though...took time to load up so I was anticipating.
I’ve been meaning to ask you Joe (for months), is there anything you can’t come up with a pic for? Your posts are terrific. Do you have a collection of photos or do you just do a search? You seem to come up with pictures for alot of different topics. Anyway it’s always interesting...
