Time has done it again. They have a cover this week that, if not a direct attack on Sarah Palin, is at least demeaning. It essentially suggests that she is not ready for the presidency.
Now is there anything inherently wrong with that? In of itself, no. But they never ran such a cover of the Muslim even though he was just as, if not more, unready for office.
Yes, I am definitely inclined to believe that there is a double-standard here.
“I didnt think the cover was that bad and the article they wrote was neutral”
Glenn Beck thought they did a fair article on him, even if the cover was not very attractive. Drove the left-wing crazies nuts. Media Matters actually ran a headline “HOW TIME MAGAZINE ENABLES GLENN BECK’S LIES”.
“Personally I don’t know anyone who admits to reading it regularly”
Since a lot of FReepers appear to know what was in the article on Palin, many of them apparently do read it.
I thought like in the last month or so some news magazine (maybe not USN&WR) downgraded to online subscriptions only. Whatever, it’s their own fault for losing their readership.
You just figuring this out?
BTW: did you happen to read the article that went with that cover? I did. I had to keep checking to make sure I was reading Time. It was a remarkably fair, and positive, article.
I know... Like I said, I had to keep checking.
Somebody posted an excerpt of that article here. I don’t normally bother with Time stuff, but the commentators were just as shocked as I was when I read it.
An editor slipped up I figure.
It’s like I said earlier. Time goes centrist when the staff has had their fish oil. Either that or the regulars are off on Christmas vacation.
Oh know. Now you have done it. You took away the sympathy for poor Sarah.
Gee. Didn’t they tell us Obama was the best thing since sliced bread? Haven’t they been paying attention lately? Ha! . . and I’ll take the half a brain they’re trying to depict Governor Palin as having over the superior elite brain they TOLD us Obama had.
these things are good because 1: they show how scared sh*tless they are of her, and 2: they are taking the threat seriously, as they should....
I will NEVER buy their rag. I read it in doctors offices and libraries.
