The funny thing is that I begged a Walgreens manager about 6 weeks ago to call the cops on me when he wouldn't honor a BOGO Axe body wash coupon I gave him. He tried to tell me that I couldn't use a BOGO coupon with a Register Rewards coupon which is complete hogwash. I got so angry that I told him I wasn't leaving until he honored the coupon and challenged him to call the cops on me. After about a half hour of him doing nothing, I left out of boredom but told him I would be back with a PRINTED copy of the Walgreens rules from their website. I returned a few days later but he wasn't in but the on-duty manager completely agreed that I was in the right. I still carry a copy of the rules with me for future use just in case.

BTW, there is a Popeye's right near me but they DO honor coupons. Owner of the MN franchise is an IDIOT for not honoring the national coupon. Just gives him a lot of BAD publicity.

I won't get into too many specifics of what I got at Walgreens but I did get a lot of good stuff. Just a few examples, since I have a bit of a cold, is that I got Alka Seltzer Cold Relief Powders (10 count) for just 86 cents after coupons and even less than that after using register rewards. Today bought 8 bottles of AXE Body wash and a couple of bottles of AXE spray deodorant for only a couple of bucks after coupons and register rewards. I should have gotten $5 Super Jingle Cash back but didn't since Walgreens BROKE their SJC promise.

Oh, and I also bought two 80 count bottles gel Aleve which normally sells for $12.99 each but, after coupons and Register Rewards, I paid only about 40 cents total. Still I wasn't very happy since I got gypped out of my $5 Super Jingles Cash.

I know this guy who gave me some great Walgreens tips. The funny thing is that this guy is extremely friendly and gregarious. However I ran into him a few times while he was out in the field couponing and his whole personality and body language changed. In contrast to his former self he would mumble and begged me to leave him alone. Why? Because he was with his wife. Mutual friends of mine told me she hates everyone in the world and they are also sure she regularly beats the poor guy up. If you saw him before and after, you would agree. I am absolutely sure his wife beats the crap out of him on a regular basis. You sort of have to just get one look at her and you would know this to be the truth.

Did your purchase exceed the value of the Super Jingle Coupon?

Did your purchase exceed the value of the Super Jingle Coupon?

That means your purchases have to be more than the Super Jingle Coupon which means more than 5 bucks. Since the SJC doesn't start until tomorrow, I haven't been able to use them yet. I always pre-plan my scenario so my out of pocket costs AFTER using my regular coupons and the Super Jingle Coupon (or Register Rewards) is minimal. Rarely more than a couple of bucks no matter how much I buy. And sometimes I'll buy over 50 bucks worth of stuff but out of pocket costs still less than about a couple of bucks.

Seems that greed is gaining control over you.

Seriously, don’t you think that your substantial “skills” might be better spent trying to somehow help your fellow man instead of ripping off your local merchant?

You know full well that the promotion wasn’t meant for the game you were playing. I don’t know what the fine print said, but even if you were within the letter of the law, it doesn’t sound like you were playing fair.

Sounds like the problem was that one of their current high school drop out employees wrote the rules, and he/she flunked English. The rules meant to say after coupons the entire time.

Please forgive me for not being on your high moral plane. May I just just sit here in the slime and admire you sitting on your cloud of virtue playing the harp?

Huh? What "game?" I am playing completely fair because I am playing COMPLETELY within the rules. Please forgive me for knowing those rules inside out in order to get the best deal I can for myself. I know someone of your high virtue would voluntarily pay more even though he would know that he could easily pay less. But like I said, I am just not on your high moral plane. Please continue to castigate me for getting the best deals possible and not tossing my money away. Perhaps someday I can attain a higher moral virtue when making purchases known as "sucker."

Relax. Take a deep breath.

The computer programmers were trying to close a few loopholes and overdid it. (For example, think Hallmark Tissue and Scotch scissors )

They are apparently trying to fix their fix right now.

This glitch really messed me up today on things I had planned to do before the sales ended today. Probably cost me at least 100 bucks in Super Jingle Cash - which I will try get back.

But it should be working again soon.

Like maybe starting tomorrow? Only a week left on Super Jingles Cash. I figure to earn at least $300 plus I have plans laid on how to spend that cash. I'm figuring on using a lot of AXE BOGOs mixed with Super Jingles Cash.

Some people are reporting it is back to working now albeit in the modified format - as in no Scotch Scissor deal, etc.

Too late for me for this weeks deals.

Try it tomorrow.

No big deal as far as the Scotch Scissor. What really matters to me is the Super Jingles Cash. I've got a beaut of a deal set up but need that Super Jingles Cash. Will check the forums tomorrow. Maybe Walgreens is catching so much flak for breaking its WRITTEN promise that they have to return to the original deal.

What I am trying to say to you is that what worked for the Scotch scissor deal with Super Jingles Cash will no longer work. But the Super Jingles Cash is suppose to print before MANUFACTURER’S coupons...and thus a fix is supposedly on the way.

Okay, good, but WHEN will the fix kick in? I'll be coopin' it tomorrow and checking the Web for feedback on this situation.

Reports are coming in that it is now fixed to work as per outlined on their website...after most of the day not working.

I am sure there are a lot of angry customers over their programming incompetence today.

Maybe Jed, you ought to get off YOUR lazy @$$ and learn how to shop like PJ. Maybe YOU SHOULD "KNOW" what you're talking before spouting off. I posted earlier Walgreens' rules from their own site, if you would have taken the time to read through the thread you would have seen that its been posted at least 2 times that Walgreens explicitly states that the SJC promo is AFTER ALL discounts and coupons. If you would have read the posting, you would have seen that they have done this for at least the last 2 years, with the same after coupons and discounts. So this isn't new, its been in existence for awhile. If YOU would have gone to Walgreens website for YOURSELF, you could have read Walgreens' policy.

Instead you decide to bear false witness about another. Its sounds like you might be coveting anothers shopping skills, but instead of wanting those same skills for yourself, you would much rather denigrate someone else, that they might not use that skill, that you're to lazy to develop.

There are many people who shop like PJ. I for one am not one of them, but I'd like to learn. I love learning how to get a good deal.

I don't know what PJ's financial condition is. Its possible that they are under tight financial strain. But whether they are or not, doesn't show greed, but wise financial management.

Proverbs 31 states:
10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

It seems to me, in todays society, we have too many people who see someone who is willing to work hard as being "greedy". That someone who utilizes frugality and wise stewardship as cheap or cheating. That anyone who financially excels , is dishonest.

Maybe, instead of tearing someone else down, you should take that same energy and learn the very "skills" you feel you're so much better than.

Imagine the deals YOU could get that YOU could then GIVE AWAY to others, because it would be "GREEDY" for YOU to be able to take advantage, but not if you gave it away.

I see you take this seriously. By the way, how do you respond to the neighbors dog taking a dump in your front yard.

There are many people who shop like PJ. I for one am not one of them, but I'd like to learn. I love learning how to get a good deal.

Just remember that about 18 months ago my couponing skills were about ZERO. Then I read a post about how you could print out a coupon and get two packs of Nathan's hot dogs at the store for just about a buck a pack so I immediately printed out the coupon and made a beeline to Publix. When I got the hot dogs, it sort of set off a light in me which caused me to endeavor to learn as much as I can about couponing. And I am still learning. Every day. Best way to learn is simply to read the coupon forums. HotCouponWorld.Com is the best place to start.

One big tip is that whenever you plan to make a big purchase, just do an online search to see if the item you want to buy has a coupon. If so, just print out and use it.
