HOLIDAY BEVERAGE FAVES (my delicious low-cal buttered rum)

Posted on 12/06/2010 9:47:57 AM PST by Liz

Hot-Buttered Rum / about 85 cals depending on proof / I use Capt Morgan Private Stock dark rum for this.
SERVING Put tea "Butter" in mug. Fill to brim with boiling water. Top w/ whole cloves.
BUTTER Mix tbl powdered Butter Buds, packet Equal, oz rum.

LIZ’S DEELISH BUTTERED RUM COFFEE
Heat in mug 1/8 tea butter rum extract, 1/8 tea nutmeg, skim milk, brewed coffee, white chocolate bits. Strain.
SERVE with tea gingerbread latte syrup, 1-2 shots vanilla syrup.

MOCHA MUDSLIDE / Nice low-cal egg nog substitute
Serve in punch bowl in pretty holiday glass or cup instead of fattening eggnog.
METHOD Mix 1/2 gal strong, cold coffee, 8 oz s/f chocolate syrup, qt skim milk, couple bottles club soda.
SERVING Add scoops of s/f chocolate or vanilla ice cream, dollops cool-whip, cocoa powder dusting.

I haven’t tried this one, but I would like to. Not much here in MS to choose from.

I hope to drink just enough rum and egg nog and whatever over the holiday period to pass out, then go into a coma until I revive in January of 2013...it’s going to be tricky, but I have to go for it. :-)

I think St. Arnold is a regional beer here in SE Texas (brewery in Houston), but I read recently that they have just expanded sales into neighboring LA, only one state away from you.
