An elk hunter is recovering after spending four days and three nights stranded in a central Oregon forest with just a small bag of beef jerky to sustain him.
KTVZ-TV reports 48-year-old Alan Hewitt, of Prineville, Ore., went elk hunting on horseback on Thanksgiving but was injured in a fall.

If I had to survive out in the wilderness for a few days, that part of the world would certainly beat the desert.

Prineville is where I went to high school; Crook County high, the only high school in the county. Ochoco Forest is more jungle than forest. Used to hunt there as well but not on horseback. It would be interesting to know just what unit he was in.

For price and quality, this is the world’s greatest value: www.KleinosJerky.com. I’m an unabashed jerky pimp. No shame. Love my jerky.

Beef Jerky?! Luxury!
When we were lost in the woods overnight, we had to stay there for a year in total darkness, and had nothing to eat but morning fog, which cleared up before we could catch any, and then we'd kill each other every night before we went to sleep, hungry.
And we were lucky!

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.
