I’m ahead of you, Meg. I’ve got the refrigerator stocked, and the outdoor faucets are wrapped with insulation. Later today, I will cover my plants with an insulated ‘blanket’.
I got a rack of baby back ribs to cook on New Year’s Day, with Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. I’ve made that every year for over 40 years - on Jan. 1, just as my German grandma did, and my mother did. It wouldn’t be ‘right’ to have anything else. LOL!
I’m so glad you had a good visit with your family. More good memories to bring smiles through out the year!
I want to come to your house for New Year’s!
I am not a sauerkraut fan though I’d probably like yours..I am well stocked up, too. It won’t freeze again til Sunday.
At least I got to have a fire in the fireplace yesterday..It was a pretty scene in my living room, dining room for a rainy day.
I won’t take down decorations until New Year’s..
My red tulips did not last long enough for my son and DIL’s visit..but I will get them again next year..They looked so festive at Christmas.
What time will you be serving New Year’s Day??? Sounds good to me. My brother’s wife always cooks a big corn beef roast and they have sauerkraut and boiled potatoes. I use to always fix something special for New Year’s Day but now I just cook ‘whatever’ or go out to eat....LOL!
I am anxious to see how much snow you all get and I’m also expecting pictures!! Have a great day! I loved your beautiful bithday card for Cardi that you made last night!
