The UK and several others do either in a limited or full way. The UK was forced to by the EU. The problem is that once something like that happens a conspiracy of silence becomes even more pronounced so that bad behavior that is common to gays such as a disproportionate level of same sex assault as shown in the US military’s own report when you crunch the numbers and the level can be as much as little as 3x to as high as 8x depending on how many homosexuals really are in the military.

http://www.sapr.mil/media/pdf/reports/fy09_annual_report.pdf

The most common offense homosexuals here in the US commit is “one in which the offender fondles or performs oral sex on a sleeping victim,”. Since homosexuals routinely target younger unsuspecting individuals this makes sense but if I would wake up to something like that I’d kill the guy.

The stats abroad are not as clear because the environment is hostile to reporting even sex abuse stats. However just doing some searching it becomes clear that the Brits top the list in allegations and confirmed cases of molestation of boys and other acts of sodomy on those they were supposed to be protecting.

Another result of open homosexuality in the UK has been the services now have been bullied into recruiting at gay pride parades and now even march in them. Many service members who had no other disagreement than a disgust for homosexuality were discharged or demoted.

Anyone who thinks adding open and proud homosexuality to the accepted military mix is a good thing is crazy. It will cause the military to join the ranks as a homosexual re-education camp for all the young folks coming in from heartland much as college campuses are today.

It also will make worse an already bad situation with stds and sex abuse.

Why we waste so much time catering to radical groups like homosexuals is beyond me.

Um. You’re going to have to provide chapter and verse for that. I’m familiar with Scripture, and I’ve never heard that phrase before ...

Armies that don’t require close quarter living 24hrs a day for 4 or more months don’t count.

The reason that there was a ban in the first place is the expectation in the US Services for this close quarter living. No toilet partitions, sleeping within 6” of another, common showers without partitions, etc... a zero expectation of privacy is what we have. It isn’t uncommon to have 50+ living together in these areas.

In the Navy when women were added to combat surface vessels, the costs were classified because they were astronomical. Entire berthing units in ships had to be cut out and replaced to accommodate women on these ships (Thank Bush Sr.). The people that forced the Navy to allow women had no idea that it would cost this much and still don’t know how much it cost till this day.

Adding gay sailors openly serving will require twice this amount to ensure that unit cohesion doesn’t falter.

If Openly Gay Solders are allowed to serve, there will be gay parties and scandals involving these solders to such an extent that the reputation of these institutions will be damaged to the point that they can no longer attracts the countries finest.

LOL We've allowed political-correctness to accomodate every deviant behavior, every mis-guided ineptitude, and every special interest crackpot to have more rights than ANY white, heterosexual, Christian in our once-great Country.

We will be reaping the "rewards" for this ignorance/socialist Utopia for decades to come.

God help our children and grandchildren.....

Some of the countries on the list do not explicitly ban or allow gays.

This is a list where they are allowed or there isn’t an official policy.

For example, if you were gay or did a gay act in a Russian Unit, they beat the crap out of you.

I recall many stories of these gays deserting their units due to violence directed at them. If you were a Russian solder, you wouldn’t dare allow this to be openly known by your comrades.

Don't be so paranoid.

Who could have possibly guessed, for instance, that anything bad could have come from allowing a 19 year old homosexual Pfc who had just been dumped by his boyfriend from having unfettered access to to State Department diplomatic cables?

Sparta used to require it. I don’t think it worked out all that well in the long run, though.

The Royal Navy advertises for recruits in gay magazines and has allowed gay sailors to hold civil partnership ceremonies on board ships and, since 2006, to march in full naval uniform at a gay pride marches.

The Muslim countries don’t have a problem because according to ArmANutJob, the don’t have any gays there. Problem solved.

If asked, don't tell or DIE.

The REAL question is...”should anyone care?”

Seems as though it’s only the combat troops that have anything against gays serving. No one wants the blood and the brains of a head-shot/infected/genetically defective, politically correct soldier splattered all over their face in a firefight.

Not as quick as a grenade but you can be just as dead.

We are discussing something that, 40 years ago, would have been an idea so crazy you would have been committed for suggesting it. This people is NOT progress. Not all change is good. When a cell goes malignant, that’s change too, not so good.
