Ted Striker: Surely you can't be serious. Rumack: I am serious... and don't call me Shirley.

.....lost a good one.
Swamp Fox, SwampFox, hide’n in the glen ...
His deadpan was hilarious.
RIP
Laugh Away Pal
The first time I ever saw Nielsen he was playing Francis Marion (Swamp Fox) in a Disney movie.
He also played in one of those Tammy movies...maybe the first one.
I saw him in an interview later in his life. He said he had a great deal of growing up to do in those days.
I always thought he was one of the good ones.
RIP, and thanks for all the laughs!!
Such a loss, but such a great run! One of the top serious character actors ever turned insanely hilarious funnyman. My wife and I were just running the names down that he heads...
Sam Kinnison...
Rodney Dangerfield...
Lloyd Bridges......
George Kennedy, O.J. Simpson and many other (more or less notorious) sidekicks from the files of “Police Squad!” and the many side-takes on that insane series...
What a loss, but at least we have a great record of why we should remember him. So many great old actors have faded into obscurity, or in many cases the best of their work is long gone...not for Leslie Nielson though.
Rest...
“Police Squad!”
Episode 1
Just for the opening music and credits...
