From what I've heard, it didn't keep her from whining and making excuses.

Jennifer Grey, like many of the other contestants, had to be "bleeped" time and again due to their foul mouths. I saw the clip of Bristol Palin and the middle finger thing, she was being funny and accurate at the same time.

At the end of the day none of this matters. It is TV which is not a thing real in the first place. The producers must LOVE Bristol Palin and the huge number of new veiwers she brought in. In that regard Bristol Palin was the star of the show because she gave them viewer numbers they would not have had. Because of that they were able to charge more money for the commercial spots. And THAT is the best thing I saw. The wonderful capitalistic system at work. Bristol Palin brought in the dough and frankly it was part of her job to gin up more talk by saying things like the middle finger thing. She played her part perfectly and while I did not watch every second of her what I did see I liked. There is no doubt that the big winner, besides the producers and the network, was without a doubt Bristol Palin.

warped world of the USA where Dancing with Stars is more important than a shooting war resuming on the Korean Peninsula

Well, if they would put the shooting war on TV, it might make a difference. ... to those who watch TV anyway.

Does this mean finally, we don’t have to hear about this stupid show anymore?

Like you, I didn’t recall her saying it either. I believe it was in an “outtake” sort of situation and the clip was leaked out (of course). I found it online and that’s what it looked like. She said it jokingly and justifiably. Of course, according to Non-Sequitur and those types, the fact that she had the gall to appear on the show without cohersion means she deserves whatever nasty treatment she gets.

That’s because the decision on the Winners is made by the Producers.

They kept Bristol in (regardless to whether she earned it or not in performance) because it was bringing in a larger audience (MONEY).

BUT, they had to let Jennifer win, or lose their core viewers.

They would have let the black guy win, but blacks don’t watch DWTS.

“I’ll never be able to watch that movie again! Can’t stand Jennifer Grey after the way she acted!”..........

That’s EXACTLY the feeling that has been growing and growing with me for the last few weeks. She COULD have been such an example of mature elegance and grace......instead, imo, she has been a middle-aged, whiny.....selfish, bratty BABY!

Baby....sheesh. That used to be my favorite scene in Dirty Dancing...”Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”..... It will be hard watching that movie again. I’m sure I will......someday, cause I’ve had SUCH a crush on Patrick for decades.. He may be gone, but I still THUDD when I watch him in that movie. :~))

Bristol behaved herself beautifully throughout the whole experience. She has the right to feel truly proud of herself.... and her family ....they had better darned well let her know just how PROUD she’s made them.....wait.... these are PALINS.....I’m sure they already have.

cheers, pattyjo

It’s like having Roy Halladay show up to pitch for the other team at your son’s Little League game.

Grey was a ringer.

OH, heck no.

There will be a ton of repeat threads and vanities today, and possibly tomorrow. Then there will be the journolists getting around to finishing the article they have been working on and it appearing in major media sources.

I'd say it will last a little while, at least until this weekend.

The holiday weekend might just sink it enough that we get lucky.

Or maybe NK will start shooting again.

DWTS isn’t more important. These are troubling times and people need to have a little fun to keep their samity.

You could always watch Red Dawn. Another movie with both Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.

Not much dancing, though!

Maybe Bristol can move on to Survivor: Alaska next season.

She’ll have an inside edge on the competition!

isn’t that the truth?

Still, the DWTS was an easy diversion from all the real problems in the world, from the Korea situation to the economy, to all the other ‘stuff.’ Unfortunately, too many take it terribly seriously.

That said, I did watch parts of the last 2 nights. My favorite part was, as a parting shot and I’m sure totally straightforward, Bristol Palin said she was BLESSED to have been able to do the show. That had to drive the folks on the left even more bats than they were over her appearance and success on the show.

“Going out there and winning this would mean a lot,” Bristol told the Dancing with the Stars audience during a clip package on the finale. “It would be like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me.”

Congratulations Bristol The Pistol. You kinda sound like her mother there. A Momma Grizzly in training?

DWTS is like Idol or any of the other reality “talent contests”. The producers specifically select participants with a range of abilities so viewers can readily form opinions as to whose performance is better. They mix in soon-to-be or near pro talent with those who are clearly over their heads. Thus, consensus as to favorites and underdogs is also readily formed.
