I first was introduced to Governor Palin while researching ANWR and domestic drilling. I saw right away that this was someone that the Republican party should consider for bigger things. I was VERY happy that McCain added her to the ticket.
Here is the short answer.
Sarah Palin was one of only a few, and probably the only one of the 2012 potential nominees, to aggressively fight the Obama regime’s destructive plans. I am willing to consider anyone in 2012, but if they are not willing to commit completely to a repeal of the last 2 years, they will not get my support.
Let’s consider another angle. How much is the “reluctance” to at least consider and appreciate Palin pursuing a nomination just simply sexism?
What have the “its my turn Republicans” done to prevent the disaster that is DC today?
If you are a blue state “conservative” or a Democrat-lite, there is no need to apply for Republican nominee. The republican brand has been destroyed by these types. We need a radical departure from the Romneys, Bushes and Huckleberries of the world. Whether that is Palin or someone else is to be seen, but the era of “big government” Republicans is OVER!
The people need a choice - socialism of Obama or the limited government and freedom of Conservatism. The latter is the winning choice. What media types, “elites”, demoncrat-lites or talking heads want is irrelevant.
Republicans have in the past seemed reluctant to actually vote for a non white male though that sappears to be going by the board now. And Republican women, along with other women, seem reluctant to vote for a woman that is physically attractive on the feeling that pretty = dumb or pretty = competition for one’s husband/boyfriend’s attention. Blonde jokes and their extension to male victims do not cover their origin and continuing focus on women. Blonde jokes are the more modern iterations of the old woman-driver jokes.
