Did you get your hair parted in the middle and feathered? And, you gotta have a cheesy mustache.

I owned a black Z-28 years ago. There were mechanical issues that I've never experienced with a Lexus. Ridiculous mechanical issues in hindsight. I can't imagine it's much better now as gubbamint motahs.

OTOH, I enjoyed it when it wasn't giving me headaches. I had a crummy old used Datsun before that. My wife and I were dating at the time and she had put up with the crummy car for a year. The first thing I did was go pick her up and take her for a drive telling her I had to come get her for putting up with the crummy car all that time.

The smile on her face was worth the cost of the car.

Even ugly cars will become valuable in the future? Really dude?

In the future after all internal combustion engine vehicles are hunted down to extinction all for the “green” movement then ugly becomes collectible.

“that, is a special edition, but price for price GT vs Z/28 is another story...”

You must be talking about the SS. There is no Z/28 at this time.

i wish Ford would not have dropped the 351 as a standard engine option in the Mustang making most comparisons near impossible btwn their 302 and GM's 350

**When I see somebody driving a super sleek sexy sports car or one that costs more than a large home I feel NOTHING.**

I herd dat I did!

Had a vette back in the 70’s; sold it because of growing family in the early 80’s. When the new owner drove it away, it was like a burden was lifted from my shoulders; no more worrying about it getting ‘keyed’, dinged, etc. Ever since, we’ve been satisfied with clean, average power, sedans and coupes. If I’m going to have more ‘toys’, they’re going to be more of the 2nd ammendment category.

**This nation will become like Mad Max, we will be driving vehicles just cobbled together, all fighting for something.**

I’ve already made plans for that; a stripped down 80’s 2wd ford ranger, w/80’s t-bird turbo coupe drivetrain, w/rusty plate steel on all sides (why bother with paint, it would just make it look like you’ve got means and therefore something to try and take).

Well, it’s ugly, so I’m not sure why anyone would buy it in the first place, then there’s the whole Gubmint Motors thing...

Check out the Genesis coupe 3.8 track model. 306 horses, rear wheel drive, limited slip differential, Brembo brakes, all for about $31K + taxes. I have a yellow one on order, it’s a kick a.... car. BTW, it’s made by Hyundai, and the quality is superb.

Re: Do you want a girlfriend? Because I just happen to be available to a man who owns a 2011 Camaro or ‘vette. ;-)

Well, I'll send my chauffeur here for ya... as soon as we get the wheels back on Mom's car.

I had a ’76 Camaro. Every one of my cars has been a GM car with the exception of an AMC when I was a kid.

I’ll never buy one that was made since the Feds nationalized GM for as long as the government owns it.
If I decide to buy a government made car, I’d just as soon buy an old Yugo. That seems to be the standard for cars made by a government.

So you're hot for an 0bama Motors vehicle eh, I'll never buy anything made by them again!

I'll take this 725 HP Shelby GT500 Super Snake:

I’m with you.

It does look nice. But as a matter of principle I would never buy a car from a company owned by the gubmint.

Sat in both the new Camaro and the Dodge Charger today at the LA Auto Show. As much as I like to drive fast, there’s no way I would do it in the Camaro. The visibility through the windshield, to me, I’m 6’2”, was insufficient and the rear view was even worse. I then sat in the Dodge Charger and to me, I felt a lot more comfortable in it. Just my two cents.

For what it’s worth, if I could afford it, I’d buy the new Infinity G37. Beautiful car!

I am now looking buying a 2011 VW Tiguan. Does anyone know anything the press is not reporting about this vehicle?

“First, cargo space is on the small side, making this compact SUV less than ideal for families with young children. Second, the Tiguan uses premium fuel and has one of the lowest fuel economy ratings in the class.”

So, IOW, despite having less interior space, the freakin’ thing is a gas hog.

VWs tend to be very solid feeling vehicles IMO; depending on the model (and era) they hold their value pretty well. In the late 1980s, as you probably remember, VW had four of the top ten on the “easiest to steal” list, but they addressed that. You may find that replacement parts (wipers, in-dash audio system, etc) are hard to find and/or a bit pricey.

But the main thing IMO is, fuel economy. Unless you like paying more than most to fund jihad via OPEC :’) the biggest cost in owning will be (if it isn’t yet) fuel — and that’s give or take some kind of carbon tax the next time the Pubbies are the minority party in both houses and Obama is still president (and he will be reelected in 2012).

The more expensive a vehicle is, the more it costs to insure.

In Michigan at least, the license fees are also based on vehicle cost.
