Check out this crazy owl. It has got to be the friendliest owl I have ever seen. He really does act like a cat the way he enjoys being petted.
Thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for it.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Winston Churchill's parrott is still alive.......
That was cute! What surprises me tho is that the person petting the owl was Japanese or hispanic. How the owl understood them is beyond me........
Really, I thought owls only chirped in English.
Who would have known?
My dad swears this is a true story. He had an aunt and uncle who had a pet parrot. The parrot was the favorite of the uncle and disliked the aunt. The feeling was mutual, and the aunt, named Fran, hated the parrot. One time the uncle was gone for several days, and it was left to his wife to take care of the parrot she disliked so much. To clean the bird she decided to use a garden hose hooked up to the kitchen sink. As she was spraying the bird, who didn’t like this method of getting clean, the bird squawked out, “Fran, Fran you’re getting the floor wet.”
When I was a kid, we had a pet screech owl. He had a club foot and fell out of his nest when he was a fledgling, and we took him in because he couldn’t hang onto a tree branch with his club foot. Our little “Who” was the most delightful companion you could imagine. He loved to be petted, he was smart as a whip, he loved music (he would trill along with me whenever I sang around the house). He lived with us for 17 years, much longer than screech owls live in the wild. Still miss that bird!!
