But - to be fair - Bristol is not the best dancer on the show, but she has the best attitude by far.

The show is not now and never was "just" about the best dancer. It is also about who people want to see advance for whatever reason. Some people just like to root for the underdog. Some will vote based on who has improved the most, or who has the best attitude! Both Jennifer and Brandy have lots of entertainment and dance experience (Jennifer's father is a famous dancer/choreographer). Brandy has wanted it too much - always talking about how badly she wants to win the trophy. Jennifer, as good as she is, plays up the "poor me" thing about her injuries too much. I think attitude can play against them sometimes. And Maks with his "tude" towards the judges hasn't helped. Bristol has been a trooper and had a positive attitude from day one. She is also one of the most improved dancers for a total amateur in the show's history.

The producer of DWTS puts the Bristol "controversy" in proper perspective

"It will go from being a dancing competition to a popularity competition..."

It stopped being a "dancing competition" when the show's producers opened it up for viewer voting.

If they want it to be a dance competition, it shouldn't be "Dancing with the STARS", it should be "Dancing with professional dancers".

The "STAR" element of the show automatically makes it not so much about the technique of the dance, but turns it into a "popularity" and "fan base" program. The judges are just there to lend a sense of "officialdom" to the contest and try and sway the voting audience with their knowledge of dancing and SNIDE remarks.

They are like today's Federal judges, judging against the will of the people.

I'm guessing the mere fact that Bristol is on the show (given Sarah's popularity) and this controversy has started, that the show will have record-breaking (for them) ratings this year.

If it all backfires on the producers and the show is cancelled, then blame the producers for poor planning - not Bristol...or Sarah.

So as you can see, we are in agreement.
