I blame Drudge! Yes, I blame the Drudge Report for this insane controversy about the use of high-tech body scanners and "pat-downs" at airport security zones.
A minor altercation can take place at Genghis Kahn International Airport in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, and it is headlines on the Drudge Report. The millions of American travelers who are utterly insouciant to a high-tech scan or even a pat-down are ignored. The other day a CBS News Poll found that fully 81 percent of Americans approve the use of the high-tech machines at the airport, but that means nothing to Drudge. How many more Americans would welcome a soothing pat-down midst the hurly-burly of travel at our nation's stress-filled airports I do not know, but count me in -- especially if the pater-downer is a cute little number on the order of, say, Sarah Palin.

“The other day a CBS News Poll found....”
Need I say more?
Reason: I've had so many X-Rays taken in my adult life, if they were all stacked on top of each other, they'd prolly be as thick as War & Peace - or the City of Chicago Building Code - whichever is thicker. And so far in my 62 years there's been no ill effect from all that radiation exposure.
In fact, that third arm that sprouted really comes in handy at times. But finding a good fitting coat has been a bit more difficult since then.
;-)
WTF, is this nut job advocating the TSA provide a pat-down with a "happy ending"? Will it include licking of the ear for the nervous first timers?
Is this what is meant by "Pursuit of Happiness" in the Bill of Rights?
Yes!
Tho it does seem a lot of people seriously over estimate their own personal grope-worthiness:
“Suffice to say, given the choice of a terrorist overhead with a bomb or loose on my airplane and a spot of radiation, I would choose the radiation.”
My objections to being pat down is that it’s an exercise in futility.
#1 tptb will not do it to Muslim women in traditional dress. So eventually someone in traditional dress will blow up a plane.
#2 The order came down to be harsh and intentionally intrusive so folks will want to be full body scanned.
#3 The full body scan accumulative scans are cancer causing and mess with chemo therapy treatments. Thanks to 0bama-care the medical community has been scared silent. Because with Government health care they are threatened with costly investigations for speaking out. Just remember Andrews Coumos threat to banks when he was HUD secretary.
Basically if I opt out of a full body scan just search me without being intentionally harsh.
So imo we own DRUDGE a debt of gratitude for exposing the TSA will be intentionally harsh and intrusive for opting out of a full body X-ray.
I’ll be curious to hear how Emmett feels about the pat down after he receives it from Rodney Grungegut.
Very disappointing.
Yeah you’re right. I was disappointed that no one looked at the comments to the artice which were extensive. Several websites were discussed and the guidelines for posting and how the moderators worked.
There was discussion about the proper role and what the goals should be.
Flying isn’t a right, it’s a priveledge. You know what procedures are now in place for the sake of security. So as a free American, you have a choice. It may not be the choice you want, but it’s a choice. Scanner or searched and fly, or don’t fly. Simple. If you CHOOSE to fly, you CHOOSE to say yes to their procedures. You’re making the choice about your rights, not them.
Nonsense. Flying is a private transaction between a business and a customer. Choosing to exchange in lawful commerce in no way abandons my 4th Amendment rights.
Flying isn’t a privilege any more so than buying groceries or a ticket to see a movie. Just because some government bureaucrat tells you it is doesn’t make it so.
Think for yourself and defend the Constitution; don’t abandon it.

I agree. But if your job/employment involves 4-8 flights a week, getting your balls strokes up to 16 times or getting nude photos taken, then is all good if you’re Barney Frank.
LOL! Ok now that’s funny right there.
