I do not understand the concept of dogs running lose. My dog is in a fenced yard (nothing can crawl under the fence) or is out with me, on a leash. Period.

When I see a dog running lose, I think vile thoughts. I've posted those thoughts before and been attacked by about 200 posts (some people think that my property is actually not mine, but rather, belongs to other people and their pets). I'll just stop here before I get into trouble.

Pretty simple It's your pet, and that gives you the right to let it roam as it pleases destroying other peoples' property as it pleases. In reality, like you, I don't understand the mindset, but in rural georgia it's the rule rather than the exception.

In some cases it is necessary to have a loose dog or two. For instance I could not have my horses if I didn’t have my Great Dane loose. The coyotes and feral dogs would tear the horses to pieces if Daisy wasn’t on guard. She is gentle with my small dogs but will kill or chase off any canine that is not “hers”. My cats sure appreciate her! No more being coyote food. Plus when I fell in the mud in February and broke my ankle I won’t have made it if she hadn’t been there to help me get to the house.

I think many country freepers have had the nasty occasion of having to shoot a stray dog...I have and the strays are usually city folks that move into the country and see it as an occasion to let their sweet dogies run....Most of my neighbors, when I had the farm, had shot at least one dog running around and those that lost their dogs as so sad..too bad dummy, keep your dog chained or fenced in....

Have had words with a couple of those people you talk about here on FR, they don't have the capacity to understand or learn...so some just don't get an answer to what they post...they are of the opinion that the whole world is for their little sweetie pie..
