Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a 2010/2011 two-part epic fantasy film directed by David Yates, written by Steve Kloves and based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. The film is produced by Rowling along with David Heyman and David Barron. The two parts form the seventh and final installment in the Harry Potter film series, with the story following Harry Potter on a quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort's secret to immortality the Horcruxes. The films star Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Principal photography for both parts was completed on 12 June 2010 (2010-06-12). Part 1 was released in 2D and IMAX formats and Part 2 will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX formats on 15 July 2011 (2011-07-15). The film will also be released with D-BOX motion code in select cinemas.

Okay, that is just so wrong in so many ways.
They’re playing 17, actually. But it’s not bad considering that they didn’t churn out one movie every year, but it at least they didn’t make one movie every 2-3 years. That would’ve been ridiculous. At this pace, they were able to use the same actors, which would be preferable to replacing them and getting new interpretations on the role.
The movies have been extremely well done, but I’m in the camp of let’s get this over with already.
As the mother of teenagers, I’m seeing that the actors don’t look 17 ... not even close. There’s a lot of change in a young person’s face and body from 16 to 21, and the HP actors are off the far end of it. At this point, they’re too old - way too old - to look right, but nothing can be done in terms of the franchise.
Of course, it started several films ago, when Neville was suddenly so tall and Ron put on all that muscle. Maybe most viewers don’t notice, but I have kids through the whole range of ages, 11 to 17, at home, and it jumps out at me.
