If you want a free for all site that seems to fit your values, I would suggest 4chan

Your reading comprehension score must be as low as your IQ. Maybe you should actually look at what you quoted before getting exercise by jumping to conclusions:

>> “Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!!” “If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR” <<

Read those words carefully. In case English isn’t your first or second language, let me type slowly and ‘spain for you, since you’re apparently from Rio Linda.

“I suggest” means that the owner of this website is inviting those who don’t agree with his reasons for starting and running this PRIVATE website are welcome to NOT read or post their opinions on it.

To “suggest” is 1. To introduce indirectly to the thoughts; to cause to be thought of, usually by the agency of other objects.

A “suggestion” is an ‘intimation or insinuation.

If you’re worried that FR is taking a DU stance, then may I, and - from the comments on this thread - a lot of others, politely suggest that that you feel free to move over to DU or Huffpo or any other website that you think you will be more “free” on. If you want to support Romney with your posts or comments, there are literally millions of other websites that you can try to do that on. Don’t let the suggestions here stop you from sharing your wisdumb on any of those other sites (and see how far that gets ya).

But while you’re here, free of charge, on another person’s property, it might be wise to heed that person’s suggestions. Just like if you were on someone’s physical property and they “suggested” that you don’t trample the flower bed because you might get shot... or worse.

If Mr. Thompson isn’t amenable to promoting Gov. Mitt’s candidacy in posts here, it would be a good idea to heed that suggestion and not post such comments.

Getting back to your literacy... or lack thereof. Maybe you can have someone re-read Mr. Thompson’s post wherein he states this about this website:

“As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America.”

I can see nowhere in that where the word “Republican” is mentioned. In fact, if you read ALL of the front page, you’ll only find the word “Republican” in about three external links to other sites. Could it be more clear that this is NOT a REPUBLICAN site?

As far as I’M concerned, “Republicans” have been part of the problem, not the solution [paraphrasing Ronaldus]. If you consider yourself a “good Republican” and are worried about being kicked off this site because you want to post, comment, discuss or promote f#@$%ng @$$holes like Romney, I would be more than happy to see your account (and IP address) banned. I’M a CONSERVATIVE, not a Republican.

As much as I don’t like some of the mod’s decisions in pulling some posts or zotting some accounts, I fully understand that I’m here by the grace of the owner and his assigns. I try to play by his rules. If he has come to the realization that Mitt Romney is a lying, two-faced corruptocrat politician who will say or promise anything to get elected and then do what he damn well pleases, citizens be damned, and said owner has decided that your posts supporting this puss filled sleaze-bag is grounds for banning you, again, THIS IS HIS PROPERTY.

That being said, I still think that this place is one of the most free, tolerant and enlightening places on the web. If I want to continue to post here, I’ll abide by the few rules that have been put in place— once again, by THE OWNER of the site.

And when you say “We are not kicking them off”, I have to ask, who’s this WE or do you have mouse in your pocket? Last time anybody checked, you weren’t registered as the owner or empowered by him as one of the mods.

God, I love the smell of ZOTs in the morning!

P.T. Barnum said it best...

Yeah let’s ignore what a politician has ACTUALLY done and just let their words guide us...

Romney did universal healthcare at the state level...PERIOD.

He is a Progressive scumbag.

No its not. Screaming zealots. No room for thoughtfulness. FR has totally changed in the years I’ve been here, so I’ve become scarce, and now I’m am gone.
Flame away, “real” conservatives.

You have this very image on your forum page.

Interesting that you've elected to withdraw from FRee Republic, --- calling us an echo chamber --- given that President Reagan was adamantly pro-life.

I seriously doubt that he'd support a fraud like Romney when there's Sarah Palin and other pro-life "real" conservatives.

"these questions should have been addressed to Jim directly, and also privately. Openly challenging his stated views about what he wants for HIS site is impolite, since we are all guests here."

I think most of us here have always looked at this as our site. I have donated to this place in the past. I am personal friends with people on this site for a long LONG period of time. I have participated in Freeping events since when Al Gore was just starting to run for President. I am responsible for a lot of people becoming very active members to this site over so many years. I have used this site in the past to get people to become active Republicans. My question goes to the site, Jim, and everyone who contributed... I have yet to say if I'm pro-choice or a Romney supporter (you could look at my posts in the past to see if I have done either one). It is good for the conservative community to allow people to post thoughts that are different then us and allow people to school them. It teaches all of us what to say on the street when we are debating against these people... I know it is annoying to sometimes hear people support someone we don't like and support issues we don't like. This is our opportunity to teach someone who maybe has the best intent in mind to explain things to them they don’t know. When you do this in front of all the other Freepers then they will have talking points they can use to say defend Pro-Life views when talking to someone who is Pro-Choice... Make the rules what you want. I just remember creating so many accounts on DU to just simply and politely question some of their thoughts and being booted. I was booted for the dumbest reasons. They will not allow anyone to question anything there. I’d hate to see FR become that. I think it’s a mistake for so many reasons. We can handle people questioning us here because we have the answers and the facts to reply back with.

Thanks very much, wagglebee! Beautifully written by the late Henry Hyde.

I am always taken aback to find pro-abortion members on FR. I will never understand that POV.

(Pro-life) LIFE is the very foundation of everything we cherish; God, family, and our Republic.

He said we weren't "thoughtful." He's no conservative. He's a Jon Stewart follower. That's one of leftist Stewart's favorite accusations.

I said way upthread you should be zotted. Not for you Mitt comments.

But for your liberal ideas towards the right to life.

You think the issue of abortion “kills us”?

Troll: What do you think it does to the baby in the womb?

That's a Romney answer.

Yep, Romney's spent his entire life saying whatever he thought would get him the most votes.

The following paragraph is on the Home Page. Maybe you've forgotten it, or think that it doesn't apply to you. But it seems to be a very clear statement of the purpose of this site in Jim's own words:

"Free Republic is a site dedicated to the concerns of traditional grassroots conservative activists. We're here to discuss and advance our conservative causes in a more or less liberal-free environment. We're not here to debate liberals. We do not want our pages filled with their arrogant, obnoxious, repugnant bile. Liberals, usurpers, and other assorted malcontents are considered unwelcome trolls on FR and their accounts and or posts will be summarily dismissed at the convenience of the site administrators."

Now, since we're not here to debate liberals, you have to define liberals. Compared to the kind of Constitutional, pro-life conservatives here on FR then Mitt Romney *is* a RINO liberal. So we're not here to debate about him.

The same goes for pro-child murder abortionists. We're not here to debate them. They don't belong here. We are here to discuss how to further OUR agenda, not convince them to change their damaged minds.

Is this clear? Do you get it now?

Yep, Romney's spent his entire life saying whatever he thought would get him the most votes.

Right and worse. Not just talk, but big-government action.

He enacted and he really thought "Romneycare" was going to be the blueprint to sweep him into office at 1600 Pennslyvania Ave.

Wrong. He's a big liberal and now romneycare is his Waterloo.

Suggestion: Start a new website. You could call it Moderatesquishes4Romney.

Anyone who is pro-life, or doesn't like Romney could have an opportunity to say what they think, right alongside those who are Romney-bots.

Mitt might even pony up like he did when he bought his own book to make it a best seller for a week (okay, a day).........
