People on another site I go to are foaming at the mouth about this. “I’m never going to watch that show again! It’s not fair! It’s only because of her (ugh!!! yuck!!!) mother that Bristol is getting votes! People are voting because of politics, not because of dancing ability! Sarah Palin keeps showing up on the show to drum up votes for her daughter! It’s not fair that the Tea Party is voting for Bristol!” Whine, whine, whine, yada yada yada. They don’t seem to understand that there are plenty of viewers who HATE Sarah Palin, as they do, and are predisposed to hate Bristol as a result, and to vote against her! So being Sarah Palin’s daughter is as much of a disadvantage as an advantage. Besides, every “star” on that show has SOME kind of a fan base who will vote for them no matter what.

Geez, I hate libs!

I've never watched the show or bothered to vote.

How does one vote in this DWTS thing? I still have no intention of watching, but now I have every intention of voting for Bristol Palin as many times as possible.

Direct me on how to vote, and vote I shall.

I sure hope RATs and RINOs were watching Bristol win thanks to votes from We The People. Sarah’s Alaska pulled 5 million viewers on Sunday night.

Yeah, two clear messages sent to RATs and RINOs about the attitude of We The People toward them and what awaits in 2012.

And another thing. How are Palin fans 'ruining it'? The object of the show appears to be that the person with the most votes wins. Not the person that the judges liked, not the person that the commentators liked, but the person who got more votes. Palin got more votes, she won. Simple as that.

Liberals sure are sore losers. Are we gonna' start hearing about DWTS voter fraud next?

“I agree with you and I cannot believe everyone here is doing what they hate - voting for someone with less talent simply because the young woman is related to a controversial figure. “

Call in shows are popularity contests. Bristol is more popular with DWTS voters than Brandy was. Brandy was a better dancer, imo. Oh well.

American Idol works the same way. The contest is set up for people to call and support their favorites. That is why it gets ratings - audience involvement. The show doesn’t exist to crown the best dancer. It exists to sell advertising by drawing maximum eyeballs.

I’m afraid you’ll have to cope with it somehow... :-)

It may not be Tea Party supporters entirely. Bristol is a favorite on Vote for the Worst.

It’s entertainment. Different strokes...

What kind of name is “Brandy”, anyway?

Really. Next people will be naming their little girls Vodka or Scotch.

Allow me to preface my remarks with this: I like Bristol as much as the next FReeper. That being said, I really though she was toast last night. I felt that way since Kurt left. He was the last of the good celebrity dancers. I thought he’d last a little longer than Bristol has since he has a huge fan base from the NFL and Christain groups. He just didn;t have the pull that Bristol has with FReepers and conservatives because of who her mother is.

Based on pure merit, Brandy should have moved on to next week. She was a better all-around dancer than Bristol. BP had one really good night, (Monday night), but the rest of the time she was out of her element. To her credit, she is the only celebrity in the history of DWTS that has never had any acting or performing arts background. She is a true ameture. She has done well with what she’s had to work with, namely no past professional performing experience. Mark Ballas has worked wonders with her.

Brandy is gone simply because she didn’t have the fan base to keep her going on to the finals. And that’s what counts, fans votes. FReepers have been stuffing the ballot box for BP. That’s fine. Brandy and all the others that have been let go could have had the same luxury but they didn’t. Why? Because those that vote, didn’t vote for them in enough numbers to keep them afloat. They are sitting on the sidelines watching Bristol, Jenniffer, and Kyle go head-to-head for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

If Bristol wins it all, which I don’t think she will, she will be the most hated person in the USA for a while. There will be charges that the voting was rigged. There won’t be any proof of that, as much as people would like to believe. It will be because BP garnered more votes than the next guy. The judges votes doesn’t carry that much weight in the voting. The people vote to keep or get rid of a dancer. And people here at FR and other conservatives have seen to it that Bristol gets more votes than the others.

It’s a simple as that.

Au contraire! Bristol has improved very much. That is the thing I like about her. I am pulling for her to do her best, do a little more of this or that, alot like I do for my children in sports or speaking. She is appealing because she has maintained grace, maturity and is coming out of her shyness.

Brandy was very good and I admire her work ethic. Jennifer is good but her whining puts me off. Kyle is fun. The judges sometimes do a little leveling of the field by low or high scores. If Bristol wins, she deserves to win. She came from nothing and has achieved a great deal. Other dancers came with a head start on performance, movement, stage presence, musical ability.

“First you don’t hit post twice. :-)”

Ya know..this is a pet peeve of mine. After posting a reply, the screen does not change and sometimes I don’t remember if I am on the preview or post screen

I think this is a FR bug. It would be nice if we got a confirmation of the post. Doesn’t seem to be a hard thing to do.

This group gives themselves to much credit. I looked at their website. 8 comments. Doesn’t sound very powerful.

It's all about ratings....

Bristol came from nothing?? There's an absurdity. She's there because the marketing crew for the show knew she would spike the ratings because we all know who her mom is...The target market was mommy Palin fans and her extension aka Bristol.

and so close to the voting season. Call it what you like...but in reality, it's called "rigging".

Exactly my analysis. Brandy should have stayed on, but that does not mean Bristol should have been voted off.

The three remaining, with Bristol, are entertainers. Bristol never performed before, and she has done so well. I love watching her.

Here’s a video of Bristol’s last dance. She’s lovely. Mark, her partner is a doll...so sweet. The music is haunting.
