Ahead of a key summit this week, NATOs secretary-general has confirmed that the alliance will not identify Iran as a threat requiring the deployment of a NATO-wide missile defense umbrella in Europe.
Anders Fogh Rasmussens comment indicates that Turkey, a NATO member, will get its way on the matter. Turkeys Islamist-leaning government has deepening political and economic ties with Tehran, and it has insisted that Iran not be singled out in NATO documents.

A timely picture. I was just looking at a copy of the fishing regulations for my state, thinking how thick and complicted they have become.
Either Turkey should be politely asked to leave NATO or USA should. If USA leaves, the funding disappears and NATO disbands or becomes limp.
Effete diplomats think Turkey is a NATO member.

And isn’t it interesting that our much beloved Appeaser in Chief will be on hand personally for the NATO summit to endorse at the highest level this travesty (or is it suicidal idiocy?) pretending to be a security policy?
If I were the new Republican head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, my first order of business would be to hold hearings on whether Turkey should continue as a member of NATO.
