Unwed mother Bristol Palin and noted smoosh-master Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino want you to PBYP, which is apparently reality TV acronym talk for "Pause Before You Play." As in, one should PBYP before you decide you're DTF*.
In case you have neither the time nor the patience to watch, this initial exchange pretty much sums up the level of discourse:
The Situation: Excuse me miss, but have you ever had a situation with the official Situation?
Bristol Palin: Excuse me, Sitch?
The Situation: Oh snap! B. Palin!

Bristol Megan McCain Palin???
This doesn’t help her mother much, gosh darn it!
She’s her own person and an adult. I don’t always like the decisions my adult children make either but it’s not my place anymore to tell them no. Bristol needs the freedom to make her own mistakes. I’m sure there are plenty of young adults that don’t make stupid decisions but I wasn’t one, nor do I know any. She shouldn’t have to make ever decision by how it affects her mother.
Cindie
A good daughter, in the public eye, would make a decision on that basis(especially since her mother might be making a run for The Great White Jail in 2012).
On the other hand, perhaps this illustrates something about the Palins we don’t want to know?
Oh my Im old what is PBYP and PSA and DTF?
Just what we need, more media clowns!! Dear God, make it stop!!
PSA ia "Public Service Announcement". That's lingo that goes back to the 60s. I don't have a clue what the other two acronyms mean. Watching the video, it was almost as if they were speaking a foreign language.
DTF must be Determined to F**k.
PBYP is explained in the article as Pause Before You Play.
Tacky to the max.
PBYP = Pause before you play ... don’t know what DTF means ... PSA has been answered I see ...
icky
Come to think of it, Amy Carter disappeared with Jimmy.
He’s back, but she’s still gone.
I miss her.
Let me be the first one to say, I think this is smart. It isn’t advocating premarital sex. It is advocating thought.
She is saying - Pause before you do something stupid. Stop and think about the consequences. Maybe that means you stop what you are doing, maybe it means you put on a condom. Whatever, just think about it.
As a mother of girls, this is very, very smart. It will be an effective PSA and no, I don’t think it hurts Sarah at all. It shows that she has raised an intelligent child who learns from her mistakes.
If there is ever a poster child for abstinence or protection, it is Bristol. She knows first hand what happens if you don’t “pause”.
Having been a girl, young woman and now mother, I know first hand that many, many girls would not go thru with having premarital sex if they would just stop and think about it. It is getting caught up in the emotions of the moment that creates a lapse in judgement.
Bristol and Situation are making it cool to stop and think.
Oye.....did I really just watch that????? lol. Well it was a good laugh. I believe that perhaps they became friends on the show and thought this would be fun. The beginning was kinda funny but then it got boring. I am sure that some here will absolutely love it.
She does - you get a 5-figure speaking engagements, 6-figure endorsement deals, acting gigs and a spot on America's most popular television show. That's the message she's sending, and that is the message that is heard by America's youth.
Messaging today is all about optics. The optics of an teenage, unwed mother hitting the figurative (and literal) jackpot, just by virtue of her pregnancy is the wrong message.
Amy Carter is married and has a child. She leads a low profile life. She is on the Carter Center board. I believe she still lives in the Atlanta area but she stays out of the news.
Let me be the first, and likely last, to agree with you.
Exactly.
“she stays out of the news”
