This will be the 3rd annual Freeper Thanksgiving Recipes thread. We always get such great recipes and ideas for Turkey day. Take one and/or leave one.
That should be at the beginning of every recipe for a great holiday. Let the troublemakers have their own get-together.
Works for me! Been doing that for about 4 years now and I really enjoy the holidays a lot more. No stress, just fun!
Now that’s “Good Eats!”.

We love this and make it every year!

I love the cornflake crunch! Thx!
Hmmm...rum, kahlua, milk, cinnamon, pumpkin...I believe that covers the five basic food groups...I’m going to have to give that one a try!
One Thanksgiving, back in the 70s, we didn’t have an oven (long story) so I had no other option but to put the turkey in the microwave. Microwaves were large enough then to hold a 25 lb. bird and they were built to last. In fact, I’m still using it every day (knock on wood). Anyway, the bird came out beautifully browned and was very moist (hey, nowhere for the moisture to escape). The family still swears it was the best turkey we’ve ever had!
The Tempting Turkey Gravy video made it look sooo simple!
Thank You for posting it!
The corn casserole is MINE! ALL MINE! I let everyone get a portion but then I stake claim on it, lol. I’d pass up all the eats just for corn casserole.
Yum! Thx! :)
I Love that!

This is a picture of step one completed
1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Arrange a single layer of turkey wings in a large roasting pan. Scatter the onions over the top of the wings. Roast in the preheated oven for 1-1/4 hours or until wings are browned.
Virginia Peanut Soup
I have posted the recipe on past threads.
This year it’s just my husband and me, my mother passed away and our son got married, so we are going to the Club for the T-day buffet.
I will still make some peanut soup for lunch on Fri. Then we will go to the tree farm and tag our tree.
How do we use the cornbread mix?
This is a recipe my mom got off the Bob Allison “Ask Your Neighbor” show on the radio in Detroit years ago. It is my duty to make it for all family gatherings and I stockpile raw cranberries during the holiday season just in case we want it sometime during the rest of the year. I usually treble the recipe. It’s sweet, tart, and yummy!
Cranberry Whipped Delight
1 package raw cranberries
1 cup sugar
2 c. miniature marshmallows
1 c drained pineapple tidbits
2 cups whipped topping
Grind up the cranberries and add the sugar. Let soak for a couple of hours. Add marshmallows and pineapple and refrigerate over night. Before serving, mix in the whipped topping. (I have also served it with the whipped topping dolloped on top of individual servings. It is a gorgeous red color.)
I have frozen the leftovers and eaten it as a frozen dessert.
Looks like you had a great tasting base for the stock. How’d it turn out? Isn’t it great not to have to worry about it right before dinner?
ping for the best of reciepes!
