Unfortunately not just hilarious but ever so true in real life. It makes me sad that there are so many who trade their place in govt for power over individuals when they go to DC.

Yes it was. Comedy was comedy then.
Carson was a gentleman to his guests as well.
Although it was "his show" he treated his guests with respect and didn't "hog the show" when they were on.
Carson was a "class act".
