I really don't care what you think about the casting.
Pretty cool, I’m excited.
In my lifetime thankfully Madonna didn’t end up as Dagny on the Big screen.
The full cast and credits listing doesn’t have the Ragnar Danneskjold character listed, maybe the whole sub-plot was cut out?
“Ive neither heard of nor sen any of the actors, nor seen almost anything any of them has ever been in.”
“The Hangover” had the same issue and it was a smash hit.
I'm ok with that as long as the overall message doesn't get lost.

Huh. I thought I heard a long time ago they were looking at Angie Jolie to play Dagney. Too pricey?
I will decide on the movie by it’s mins,if it is 2 hrs long i might give it a shot,if it is 93 mins long not a chance in hell i am wasting my time on it.....
Will cigarettes be cut out of it for PC reasons?
It’s supposed to be Part 1 of a 3-Part Trilogy.
This is the first Ive heard that this production is only the first of three films, and while I havent read Atlas Shrugged, those who have tell me a trilogy is the perfect way to tell the story on screen. Like Lord of the Rings, the natural breaks in Rands novel practically demand it be told in three parts, and a single feature film, even a long one with a hefty studio budget behind it, would almost certainly short-change the novels legion of faithful fans who, regardless of budget, are most concerned about seeing an adaptation that doesnt compromise Rands philosophy. To that end, Kaslow assures the Randians:The movie is a direct adaptation of the book included using much of the dialogue written by Ayn Rand.

He probably won't appear until they shoot Part II or Part III.
I did not know that,i will check out the Breitbart link later and yes i understand it being told in 3 parts a lot of stuff to tell.
The only problem i have is Hollywood making it, the novel celebrates capitalism and freedom from the gov not a idea liberal Hollywood espouses...
Taylor Shilling (plays Dagny Taggart) |
Paul Johansson (plays John Galt) |
I always pictured someone like a young Daniel Day Lewis as John Galt, and either Carrie-Anne Moss or Kelly Lynch as Dagny. And definitely Scott Glenn as Ellis Wyatt.
Say, is that guy trying to do an impression of Nick Gillespie, or what?
Well, FWIW, the Breitbart article says:
During the course of Aglialoros efforts to get the film into production, the project had definitely attracted a number of very reputable directors however, given Johanssons passion for the material and desire to execute a faithful cinematic vision of the book, the producers believe they found a director that most will believe is a diamond in the rough. And John Aglialoro is NO Hollywood Insider. He's the CEO of Cybex International, a long-time devotee of Ayn Rand, and a trustee of The Atlas Society.
I’d like to see Ellen Page in it....simply because I think she’s cut as a button.
I will check out the movie when it is available on netflix until then i will make no further comments..
This director/CEO is now awesome in my book, the Cybex 710A full body elliptical is my favorite piece of cardio equipment in the world.
went to YouTube to watch video clip of the guy - arrggghh! Doesn’t look promising.
Oh, for Jimmy Dean -
STARVE THE BEAST!
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Atlas Shrugged Ping list.
Note: This is not necessarily a ping list for Atlas Shrugged (the book or the movie), but is related to the concept of Starve the beast.
Thanks for the ping
