DWTS Season 11 enters its eighth week of competition tonight (Nov 8) and thus, the Bristol Palin enigma continues.
'Bristol the Pistol' has taken aim & shot down better qualified & much more fiercely talented candidates in her quiet wake to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.
But the burning question remains: how does Palin continue to linger on the competition & stir the ire of many DWTS fans who view the show as a talent (not popularity) contest?
While continually scoring at or near the bottom of the Judge's leader board since the onset of Season 11, Palin has somehow beat out competitors who have outscored and outperformed her, i.e., Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, and even Mike The Situation Sorrentino who exited the show at Week 4.
But what is really at the crux of the Bristol Palin matter is not the fact that Palin continues to receive enough votes to stay on DWTS. That part is evident.
The real question is why & where those votes come from. That is, are those votes generated by Sarah Palin supporters, or are they cast because people really like Bristol?
Hopefully, it's because people truly like 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter', find her refreshing and just want to see her win because of who she is.

I’m late, has Bristol and Mark been up yet?
Joyless Behar will go crazy.
Not yet...
Let’s hope they don’t make her wait until the end.
Bristol and Mark were three points behind Brandy and Maks on dial idol. FWIW.
I get confused on who’s who.
LOL.
Huh just look at poor injured Jennifer running around. Brother!
Jennifer is safe.
Kurt is in jeopardy.
Jennifer Gray was not in Flash Dance, she was in Dirty Dancing and her father in the movie was a physician, not an abortionist.
Which IMHO should make her disqualified in a contest against amateurs.
That was a lot of years ago and AFAIK she has not really danced since and the dancing they did in that movie didn’t cover the gambit of the dances in DWTS. It definitely would disqualify someone like Patrick Swayze (were he still alive) as he was a professionally trained dancer — like all the professionals on the show.
Maks doesn’t apologize to Carrie Ann ..just to the audience...
Yeah...nice dig there Maks. lol
Yep, I saw that. Talking to Bristol.....
Finally here...Had to rebout the computer...Yuck!
Yeah its gonna be between Bristol and Kurt, one of those two will go
Mark Ballas was Kristi's partner when she won the Ball, and I think she was my all time favorite that actually won.
I loved Donnie Osmond also, my second all time favorite winner.
I wish Jennifer would go already and have Brandy win the Ball.
Kyle did a better job of keeping on with his partner in the Instadance jive than these experienced kids.
I'm sure Carrie Ann noticed.
