Bad decision...he’s a good coach. Jerry Jones should have stepped down as GM and hired a real GM. The NFL has a short season, only 16 games. It’s easy to start off 1-7 if your players make some dumb mistakes and you have some key injuries. Would they fire an NBA coach after a 1-7 start when his top player has been injured? Of course not. I watched the game last night and the Cowboys didn’t play that badly. Their backup QB, Kitna, just isn’t good enough to throw effectively against the Green Bay defense, and Green Bay played an excellent game on both offense and defense. Jerry Jones made the decision to pick Kitna as the backup QB. When your starting QB is injured your team just doesn’t get as fired up to play and doesn’t focus as well. All of that combined into a rout by Green Bay, but it’s only one game.

Jones should have hired a GM when he bought the team in 1989.

No wonder why the Patriots and Steelers have been dominate over the last decade. Their coaches have complete control over decision-making.

OTOH, if an NBA team that was expected to win its division had a 5-36 record for the first half of the season, most NBA owners would probably dump the head coach at that point too. The problem isn't just the one rout by Green Bay. The Cowgirls were routed by Jacksonville, and by the Giants, and by Tennessee. They lost to the Chicago Bears when a pathetic QB picked their defense apart like it was a junior varsity squad. The 1-7 start is due to a lot of factors, but mostly due to stupid, undisciplined, and underachieving play by a bunch of guys who SHOULD do much better. The season is down the drain, and firing Wade is a little like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but things NEEDED to be shaken up.
