love most of your list but you can dump Vince Gill and Glen Campbell and add a couple of real country singers like Johnny Bush and Ray Price...
I'll take you well-made point and largely agree.
In 20/20 hindsight, my list was possibly biased toward the smooth, mellow side (with the notable exception of Ernest Tubb). That being said, it really was near criminal of me to not have the great Ray Price in the top ten. He could do both the authentic honky tonk vocal style and turn it around with elegant, velvet sound of "For the Good Times".
Ray and Roger Miller on Invitation to the Blues is simply sublime.
