When Brides Have No Budget (Or Taste) (Bizarre wedding cake)
Cakewrecks ^ | May 31, 2008 | Jen

Obviously someone needed to rein in this woman during the wedding planning. What kind of ego does it require to commission a life-sized replica of yourself in cake? But what really baffles me is this: the details are exact right down to the hair clip, so what the heck is UP with that tacky red rick-rack down the skirt of the cake? "Sure, we hand-painted a matching bodice-design, copied the make-up and hairstyle, and have identical veils - but then we thought this giant rick-rack would add just the right extra touch!" ?!?

Obviously Bridezilla shares my opinion: she's eying that red trim with murder in her eyes.

You folks are missing the most important point of this story, which is that the young woman is GETTING MARRIED (hopefully to a man).

Yes...miracles still do happen.

Yes, but she does NOT look happy

Narcissists aren't happy people. And neither are those around them.

Where’s the cake that looks like him? She says she has wanted a wedding like this since she was a little girl, obviously it’s only ‘all about her’.

and it’s too bad, because the black community doesn’t have a lot of men marrying the black girls. Plenty of the girls have babies by several different men, and never get a husband.

He looks like a nice guy. She looks like, well, Behar knows.

Was she marrying herself? Nowhere in the cake a sign of the groom. Unless, of course, he’s portrayed as hiding under the wedding dress.

What I keep thinking is, it’s strange thinking of the cake being cut. I mean, it’s like they are stabbing the bride... also, who wants a piece of the butt? That’s just creepy.

Also about the red rickrack - you know, you can’t see her dress. She might have some on her dress on the side, out of view. It’s not like she has taste or anything.

It might be tradition to keep the top tier, but seeing's how the top tier is THE HEAD, I don't think I would want that in my freezer. That kind of thing would give my dad a heart attack while he was reaching for some ice.

What would you guess that thing cost? It really does look like the bride, a whole lot of time spent there, it appears to me -not to mention ingredients.

I would guess it was around $10,000 - $15,000 depending on the city where it was made. Middle US would be lower, NY or San Fran, higher. If it was done by a famous designer, it would be more like $30-$40 K.
