“A growing number of people are cutting down on daily showering and hair-washing.”
Middle-Eastern cab drivers in NYC have been doing it for years.
And the French have been doing it for centuries.
I have OCD. I don’t just over-shower but I also wash my hands often and then slather on hand sanitizer.
I must have a hot morning shower otherwise I don’t feel human.
I don’t see how anyone could not bathe on a regular basis....that’s just gross!!!
Oookay....
There are, of course, environmental benefits. In a bid to reduce his carbon footprint to the absolute minimum, environmentalist Donnachadh McCarthy, 51, limits his showers to about twice a week. "The rest of the time I have a sink wash," he says. "I believe that I'm as clean as everyone else." It has helped him to get his water consumption down to around 20 litres a day well below the 100 to 150 average in the UK.Maybe he should start drinking his own urine, that will cut down on his water consumption, and eating his own crap. In a short while, his carbon footprint will go way, way down.
I refuse to dry shave my back.
Nice clean article. Thanks for posting it.
Not at all like that “horrible vaginal odor” thread that was yanked earlier today.
~snort!~
I live in a freakin’ Middle Eastern desert. I shower twice a day - even when it’s not 125-degree summer.
“Could you give up washing”?
...according to liberals, we already have.
My cousin lived on a farm/ranch in the middle of nowhere...in S.E. Kansas. I used to visit when I was in H.S.
One visit...they hadn't had a lot of rain...they had a cistern..and depended on rain water for their water.
We had been working on the place...and got dirty of course..I took a bath, and my cousin asked me not to empty the tub after I bathed.
The water was brown!! LOL!!
My cousin's husband took a bath in my leftover water!!
I'll never forget that!! LOL!!
No, I won’t give up washing. I disagree with the major premise of this article, anyway.
It should soon be easier to instantly distinguish the conservatives from the libs, since they are already down to one square of tp and now are cutting back on bathing.
That just leaves more hot water for the rest of us.
These folks put the PU in putz...
I have made it a point of my New Year’s resolutions to increase my carbon footprint by driving more (am lucky enough now to avoid a lenghty work commute) for pleasure and timewaste, cruising as we used to call it.
Someone mentioned on the radio that supposedly, eating a steak is like driving an SUV for a few hours.
So, I’m gonna go to steakhouses over an hour away!
And then indulge in a late night winter shower for no reason at all!
People also used to have lice and serious diseases.
We are past little house on the prairie and we don’t live in France.
I lived in Europe for several years and traveled quite a bit. They have some beautiful cities and old architecture, but I'll be damned if I'm going to smell like them, uhhh.
The fact is ultimately this, I pay the bills for my water and my electricity, so I'll take as many damn showers/baths as I want to, which is usually 2-3 a day.
I will continue to shower once a day, sometimes twice.
I will continue to drive my gas hog truck, worse yet, my very thirsty boats.
I will eat steak any time I want to.
If these idiots want to go back to the caves, fine, but they should stay away from me.
Why would I want to give up smelling pretty and practicing good personal hygiene.
These people are dumber than a bag of hammers and will likely be the first to experience the plaque.
Let’s also keep in mind people have become such pampered wimps they view an article about skipping a shower once in a while to, well, cause a stink.
If these folks want fleas to live on them, it’s definitely
time for separation.
