Colorado Becoming California

Much of the immgrination into Colorado is from emirigation from Califronia. Yet, the new residents in Colorado seem bent on repeating the same mistakes of California in electing Democrats. WTF. California was great as along as it was a majority Republican State. Then in the 90's in swinged wide to the Dems. Are these people insane in electing Democrats who got their original state in so much trouble in the first place that they had to move?

The downfall of Colorado all began with singer John Denver and his Rocky Mountain High song. No kidding. That one song made it hip for long hair get-back-to-nature types to move from California and other places to Colorado. The state got bluer and bluer from then on. Now its an island of blue in a sea of red.

Colorado Springs is still Red so I don’t think she’ll move. As long as the land between Denver and Colorado Springs stays in private hands the urban sprwal from Denver is stopped. The land is mostly owned by one family that refuses to sell it for Denver development sprawl.

They are insane in electing Democrats, period. The same thing has happened to Nevada.

There is a similar situation in Northern Virginia. Maryland liberals totally destroyed their state with high taxes. They stare across the Potomac and see that the cost of living is much lower in Northern Virginia, so they pack up and move across the river to Alexandria, Fairfax, Vienna, Arlington, Manassas, Herndon, etc., where they immdediately proceed to demand the same 'changes' that they implemented in Maryland. Before you know it, regulations and taxes in Northern Virginia are unbearable, and now the cost of living there is just as high as it was in Gaithersburg, Bethesda, and Silver Spring. Did they learn their lesson? Hell no. That would require critical thinking, which is practically non-existent in the liberal brain.

We fled California, specifically Orange County, in 1969. Almost all the leftists I met in Oregon and Washington States since that time came from places east of the Mississippi River.

Liberal locusts. They start in one state and ruin it with their politics. Then they see greener pastures somewhere else. They fly there and ruin that place with their politics. During the LA riots and the carjacking epidemic and whatnot, the rich entertainment industry limo-libs absconded to other places, including Colorado (Kurt and Goldie spent a lot of time up there, to the point that one of their kids was in hockey, and they owned a business). Also it seems most of the tech bubble zillionaires were libs, and they bought up scenic places by the square mile.
