Noted light turnout of mostly older folks at 0800. Good for the good guys, I think.
Waited behind 25 people or so to vote at 6 am at Fairhill Elementary to vote for Keith Fimian.
I say we take back U.S. House Districts 2, 5, 9 and 11.
Voted at 6:15 in Hayes, in VA-1. Turnout was light. Our guy Rep Rob Wittman will sail to an easy win here.
I voted in Fluvanna County (5th District). Got there when the polls opened and there were about 25 people in line. I knew several of them and know they are conservative. As I was walking into the polls, a Perriello campaigner handed me a sample ballot, and in return, I handed him a teabag that I brought with me and said “Thanks for all the Clark ads, but I’m voting for Robert Hurt”. For anyone not familiar with this race, the Perriello campaign has actually been advertising FOR Clark, the Tea Party candidate in an attempt to split the conservative vote. Clark has no chance at all to even come close to winning this, so those who want to dump Perriello need to vote for Hurt. He might not be perfect, but he certainly is the lesser of the evils.
Voted in the first district at King Georgeg County (old high school). Got there at 0615. I cast the 31st paper ballot (IAW the counter on the machine taking paper ballots)but they did have electronic voting available. So I would say a safe estimate of at least 50 votes within the first 15 minutes. JROTC was out there selling Krispy Kreme donuts. All in all, a good day.
Check this outrageous YouTube of Perriello supporters getting violent (warning-adult language-but what would you expect):

Aye aye, sir! Am going to drop off vehicle for check up then on to the polls.
Will report on return of mission and give full de-brief...
Today we engage the enemy and we will have VICTORY!!!!!
(Not really, our congressman is super conservative, Randy Forbes, so no big fight here...but it was fun to post!)
7am VERY low turn out at Woodson HS in fairfax... only ~20-25% if 2008 (I vote at the same time every year.
This is a DEM area... DEM St. Senator, Dem House of Delegates
Note: Bobby Scott must be nervous, because I received an automated call from his campaign for the very first time. Dems are really scared of the People this time around!
Voted in Stafford this AM (VA 1). Very conservative county in a very conservative dustrict. Was there shortly after the polls opened (abt. 6:10 AM). Turnout seemed decent for a midterm. I was about tenth in line. Alot of people here vote early before the long commute to NoVA/DC. Needless to say, I voted against Krystal “party girl” Ball.
Far SW Ninth: watcher said average to heavy turnout
Liberal reports here: http://notlarrysabato.typepad.com/doh/2010/11/election-day-open-thread.html
They seem to be “small wave” reports- hope there’s some wishful thinking...
VA 11th District - I was voter #917 at 5 p.m. at my polling place.
Just got in...I noted that in order to get to the place that I would vote at, had I been a resident of VA, I’d have to drive past two other voting places, unless I took funky backroads...LOL
Crowds were heavy at all three places...signage looked good though...and I should note that the local rock station played one political commercial while I was out, and it was for Murray. :)
