You might prefer the smaller size if you are carrying it around a lot. I think 11 is a really nice size. I have a dell 11” notebook, and it is just big enough to have a full keyboard and usable screen, but still small enough to really easily carry it around.

Because I can get a 17" HP laptop for much cheaper, and it doubles for a desktop. For portable, truly portable, this beats the pants off the Vaio. I would like to see how well it lasts in the hands of a field

Why not get a 13’ MacBook Pro for just about $200 more? Because it's $200 more, almost twice as thick, and 5.6 pounds, it's 3.3 pounds heavier...
