In the server world, and the technical user world, it's the preferred system. In the embedded world, it's way beyond any other OS. Your wireless router is running a version of Linux.

Linux is the fastest growing OS in the world. Its just not necessarily on PCs. But its in everything from your microwave to your telephone.

If Linux is so damn good, why is it so damn far behind...Because the vast majority of people don't install an operating system on their computer, they use what came on it. If you asked many of them to format a hard drive and install Windows 7 on it they'd get the cold shakes. I can assume you don't consider this an indictment of Windows?
