Now it is just a Republican hating sewer.
I have never before seen an adult psychologically break down the way Johnson has in the past several months.
How does an adult human being justify as rational a 180 degree turn from all his previous beliefs?
Even more interesting is the pysch of those of his members who remain to post on his site. What sort of mental deficiency causes people to adjust their world and rational outlook to conform to those of an obviously mentally ill blogger?
It’s been discussed here in FR in the past.
Please repair title from metal to mental.
The “metal” is overwrought iron.
Can you break down metal? I never took biology so I don’t know.
Not to mention a child.
What was the general theory and/or consensus on what type of psychological issues he’s dealing (or not dealing) with?
You’re good!
Doug Thompson at Capital Hill Blue. He’s now a Democrat-loving blogger in Floyd, Va.
He's now just another one of those insufferably self-righteous bicycle riding dweebs who smugly snarl traffic on purpose to prove a point, and who take horrible art school 101 photographs of bridge abutments and the like to post on their little blogs to show just how sensitive and artistic they really are.
I hear you, and I don’t disagree. But Johnson has also done some bona fidededly [sorry; needed a new word] weird stuff that a lot of normal libs don’t do. For instance, he had a henchman post racial slurs on Hotair in the middle of the night, and then made a big brouhaha over the number of hours the comments were allowed to remain posted prior to deletion. To me, that speaks more of mental illness than of just snapping back into high-handed holier-than-thou leftist knee-jerk liberalism.
That tactic is not unique to him nor to Hot Air. It’s been attempted in numerous places including FR, by numerous usual suspects.
Just par for the course, staging propaganda yourself and then pretending to write objectively about it. Speaks to the self-serving nature of the blog beast, as well as the abject lack of a moral compass among the left in general and leftist bloggers in particular.
Is he rusting?
Some leftists do things like that routinely. Otoh, the head of the Dailykos has never (1) colluded with an underling to plant racial slurs on FR, and (2) penned a self righteous column condemning FR as a cesspool of racism and bigotry. The head of HuffPo hasn’t done that either. Their members may sneak over here and try to besmirch the site, but the founders of the sites do not then climb on a soapbox and use the comments *they* initiated to prove the demonstrably bogus charges. Johnson seems to be in a league of his own on that one.
He’s done some really vile things to Ace of Spades, too, but I don’t have a list handy. It just seems that as the head of what used to be a reputable site, Johnson has sunk further into the muck of slander and truly bizarre smears than most site founders who are still cogent enough to realize their reputation matters.
*GASP*
You can NEVER have too much Metallica!!!
I think his “metal” was tested...and he failed!
He doesn’t have a reputation anymore among his former site patrons, nor among anyone considering themselves remotely conservative.
He’s generating controversy in order to promote click-through for one. Money.
He’s also always been rather dictatorial and spiteful, as anyone who has ever posted to his site and “crossed” him can attest.
This shouldn’t be so surprising, in hindsight. All the ingredients were there all along.
Johnson was a liberal until 9-11, when he ran to his big brothers (us) for protection.
It was like when Dan Rather broke down in tears on David Letterman shortly after 9-11 and said that George Bush was his president and he’d support him in whatever he did to get back at those who committed the murders.
The same was confessed by Rosie O’Donnell on another late-night show.
Eventually, after a brief hiatus with logic and reason, these liberals eventually get back to their old lefty positions, and with no new wisdom to show for it.
It just took Charles a little longer than the others.
I stopped visiting his site a long time ago, so I have no first hand knowledge of what goes on. What I’ve read, however, is that his dictatorial spitefulness has been ratcheting up to previously unseen, stratospheric levels. In fact I’ve seen more than one report to that effect. That would be in keeping with some sort of mental disorder, which tend to either get better or worse but rarely remain perfectly static.
