Mauled Chinese menu dropper says three pit bulls attacked him as Brooklyn bystanders watched

The Chinese restaurant owner mauled by three pit bulls as he passed out menus in Brooklyn said from his hospital bed that he is lucky to be alive.

"They tried to kill me," Xiu Ming Li said Monday from his third-floor hospital bed at Kings County Hospital.

Blood seeped from fresh white gauze covering bite marks on his arms and legs. His right ear - where he lost an earlobe - was also wrapped in gauze.

His wife sat at his bedside, her eyes full of tears.

Li, 52, owner of the Jing Lung Chinese Restaurant on Nostrand Ave. in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, said he has run into dogs before when leaving menus.

"One dog - no problem. Two dog - no problem. But three dogs?" he said. "They attacked me all over. The meat on my leg - gone. Just bone."

Li, whose family says he couldn't read the "Beware of dog" sign on Samantha Sing's yard at 155 Winthrop St., was walking up the driveway around 9:30 a.m. when Sing's 3-year-old pit bulls - Joe, Solo and Maxie Drizzle - pounced.

He bitten on his legs, arms and head.

"No one tried to help me. Two men just stood there. The lady came and pulled off the dogs," Li said.

He said Sing seemed more worried about tending to the dogs than helping him to safety.

Sing angrily rebutted Li's account, saying she, her nephew, her husband, and her sister-in-law rushed to his aid.

"Why would we stand there and allow it to happen?" she asked. "Why would we do that? He wasn't harmful."

She said the whole thing could have been avoided if Li had put the menu in her mailbox, outside the fenced-in yard.

Sing said she is very upset because she misses Joe, who died of an apparent heart attack after the mauling, and because she can't visit her two surviving dogs at the city pound.

"They have to keep them under observation for ten days. I am so hurt," she said.

It REALLY pays to learn English, buddy. It's a shame that one of her dogs died as a result of being capture-sticked by the police. He was guarding his home and did nothing wrong. The idiot menu-dropper was totally at fault, trespassing into a yard with THREE "Beware of Dog" signs. I think she should sue for the price of another dog.

"Carry a semi automatic hand gun."

So you can shoot people's animals when you ignore the "Beware of Dog" signs and trespass on their property?

The dogs knew the truth about how many of their kind ended up in his Chow Mein and acted in self defense. The dogs knew, the dogs always know...

That would violate federal law.

How about respect private property.

If dogs attack on parkway off owners property I agree with you assessment.

However from article, Li was invading property, dogs were doing ther job

Besides all you can eat Chinese buffets, Nostrand Avenue is also a great place to score drugs with your federally sponsored EBT card:

Wow a joke so bad you needed to post it twice? It didn’t make it any funnier though.

Any sane person would keep pumping bullets into them into they stopped twitching.

Sue for trespass. Maybe even sue for the value of the foul animals. The cost of any lawsuit would be worth it. No sane person is going to let three pit bulls maul them and eat them alive.

If you ignore the no trespassing and beware of dog signs on my fence, waltz into my gated yard, then start shooting my dog, the only advice I can give you at that point is you'd best save your last bullet for yourself.

Clear?

I don’t know how much I blame the bystanders. Against three pit bulls? Unless I was carrying I think I could not have done much.

If it was a kid maybe I’d get in there, let them bit me instead of him.

English comprehension aside, I would think a fence is pretty much universal for ‘stay off my property’. Why not just hang the menu on the gate?

Where did I say anything about private property or trespassing?

All I’m saying is that I will carry a gun to be able to protect myself against a dog, human or anything that may attack me.

Get a clue.
