Dancing With the Stars week 5 performance show is Oct. 18, and it could mean that Bristol Palin is eliminated on Oct. 19. The past two weeks have seen her and dancing partner Mark Ballas consistently at the bottom of the weekly scoreboard.
Both times Palin and Ballas have been just ahead of the lowest scoring couple, getting saved each week, despite being placed in jeopardy by the combination of judges' scores and audience home votes.
Last week, Palin and Ballas were eighth place out of nine couples, just ahead of The Situation and Karina Smirnoff during week 4 of Dancing With the Stars. It was down to these two couples at the end of the show, and it was The Situation and Smirnoff who were sent home.
The previous week, Palin and Ballas were just ahead of Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel, but it was Cho and Van Amstel who went home. Now all of the low-scoring couples have been voted off the show, leaving Palin and Ballas very vulnerable at the bottom of the scoring so far this season.
As with any reality competition show, things can shift from week to week, and it could lead to Palin and Ballas putting up their best scores of the season.
So far in the season, Palin and Ballas have averaged a score of 18 out of 30, which isn't good by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe this is the week where they really impress the judges, though, making their elimination a rash prediction.
The Oct. 18 Dancing With the Stars performance begins at 8 p.m. on ABC, with the promotions for the show stating that they will all be dancing to TV theme songs.

Announcing they were safe at the beginning of the show completely shocked me.
Yeah but she was at the bottom so it just did not look good. So glad she made it, voting works people..!
NO kidding....Hope Kurt Warner is safe too....He seems like a good guy..
I know! My husband didn't understand why I had to vote with his phone last night. He thought I was cheating...LOL
SOOOOOO glad she’s in. I was not digging the whole gorilla get-up, but hey......she made it! Woohoooooooo!!!!
I am so happy, I think I could eat a shoe, too, and DrO is thrilled!
He thought she did GOOD last night and thinks the harsh critics here are sour....lol. He liked that she seemed to have FUN last night and knows that she’s “no dancer,” but he thought that a couple of the others were worse. So ya see, everone has their own opinion.
I'm impressed with him. I'm sure he's not a democrat.
That’s right. She’s not a dancer and is trying hard! I hope she’s making a lot of money by being on 6 weeks.
Bristol is safe.
Whew! So glad Bristol’s safe. Boggled about who’s going though.
Yep, they announced her and Mark safe right away and *that* shocked me. Usually they hold back.
I also hope that she is given an elegant or a pretty dance costume, or even a CUTE costume.
Now I will enjoy the rest of the show!
She'll probably win, although she had her diva moment last night.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Bristol, but she really was aweful last night, she’s by the far the one that in all honesty should have gone home.
Excellent News.
The dance routine was fine, I enjoyed it a lot, just the gorilla suit was WAY too big on her. Its like wearing a costume that is too big on you and you can’t move, should have been made smaller but I got the idea..loved the Monkeys!! So glad that she made it through..usually ABC milks it for all its worth so I was really surprised to hear that Bristol is safe and that they announced it SO quickly..very strange, see, voting helps..vote, and vote often..too bad we can’t do that on November 2nd, or can we LOL
Children of the Corn is in jeopardy..I will laugh if Golden Boy gets the boot.
Jennifer is in jeopardy!!!!!!!!!!!
Brandy is safe.
Wow! That is super. Can you say Ms. Popular!!! This will be like the Presidential election. tee hee
Jennifer in jeopardy..no freakin way she goes home tonight
