You do realize Mark Kirk IS from Zero’s same political machine, don’t you ? This isn’t a new story, we’ve been ringing the alarm bell on this Socialist fraud for a LONG time.

But you don’t understand, WE want to stop Kirk. Open Democrat Alexi will not cause nearly the damage to the GOP that Closet Democrat Kirk would. This guy is worse than Specter and Jeffords, and he WILL stab the Conservative cause in the back.

I loathe Kirk as much as much as anyone else. That being said anyone working against him at this point is a Dem plant. Yes, I mean you.

And get real, Labno has no chance.

Better to go out on principle than elect a liberal Republican who'll backstab you.

When was the last time a Libertarian candidate won anything?

These are unprecedented times. Who gave Miller and Christine a chance against more established Republicans?

The time for this argument about Kirk was earlier this year.

Kirk only won because the IL primary was very early in February. The establishment backed him the moment he declared. It was not a fair primary at all.

Why give up the 51st seat for Senate control as if his opponent would somehow be so much better for the conservative cause?

And you think Kirk will vote with us on issues like cap and trade? He'll be part of the Lugar/Maine twins caucus that'll defeat all of our agendas because they're "too extreme."

Kirk lied about his military record. The guy's a big fat fraud who's probably a closet homo.

Well I early voted and I hold my nose and voted for Kirk..

Same here. I have voted Constitution Party since 1994, but in this particular case the opportunity to get a Senate majority, or at least shift a D to a (only slightly) better R was worth holding my nose and picking him. He's still a sleazeball who had best avoid thinking his constituents can stand him though. Hopefully we'll get Brady elected governor, so when Kirk follows our state political tradition of becoming an imprisoned felon, we can get someone more conservative appointed.

This ILLINOIS....
I’d rather have an R that votes 70% with the R’s, than a D that votes 0% with the R’s.

The place for conservatives was in the PRIMARY, and we almost won that.

I’m in the state next door, so I know enough about the mob banker to know that Kirk may not be perfect, or may even suck, but he’ll suck a hell of a lot less than G will.

And I also find it odd, that these anti-kirk rants sound EXACTLY like that coming from a G. campaign employee on Daily Kos!

And you think Kirk will vote with us on issues like cap and trade?

Never said he will. But I don't think his vote will matter on that issue anyway. The Dems are going to either lose their majority or have it severely parred back. They couldn't pass cap and trade with 59-60 seats because of opposition by coal state Republican and Democratic Senators. They'll have even less chance of passing it after this election with a severely trimmed back majority--or even losing the majority in which case the GOP leadership need not even allow cap and trade a vote.

What about all the times Kirk's vote will matter and that we could probably count on him for, like rolling back some of Obamacare's provisions as he said he would vote to do or extending ALL the Bush tax cuts as he indicated he would vote to do?

As for the February primary, fair or not, it's over. Where was all this unfairness to stop Tea Party candidates elsewhere like in the races with the candidates you named? They managed to win their races despite what "the establishment" wanted. And Miller and O'Donnell won their primaries as Republicans, not as Libertarians. That was a primary race with a more narrow universe of voters than you have in a general election and thus upsets have more potential. I don't see a comparison to their races indicating a Libertarian can win a statewide Senate race in a blue state like Illinois when a Libertarian's never won such a race in more Republican states. For Labno to win, EVERYONE currently voting for Mark Kirk would have to race over to Labno's side instead. Not likely.

No, YOU don't understand. I live here, and the only way to
keep Illinois from having a mobbed up, Chicago Machine
thug for a Senator is to vote for Mark Kirk.

Who is this Republican who will vote 70% right ? Not Socialist Mark Kirk.

BTW, the primary was a joke. If you think you had an input in it, you’re just another dupe, exactly what the IL Combine is counting on.

I don't care what state it is. I don't buy the argument anymore that we need to keep electing moderates from so-called blue states. How is that working out for us? Moderates like Jeffords became an independent, moderates like Snowe helped advance Obamacare when she could have killed it in committee, and moderates like Snowe and her evil twin helped pass the porkulus.

I understand that Kirk won the primary. But Kirk is so far to the left that it makes no sense to support him. He lied about his military career, he supports partial-birth abortion, cap and tax, is a huge gun grabber, and is going to be outed as gay if he's elected. Why do you want this time bomb elected? All he'll do is carry Obama's water.

You didn’t read my link in the post, did you ? You’re voting for a Socialist mobbed-up DIABLO Combiner, madam, every inch as dirty as (yet even MORE dishonest than) Alexi. We know which one is going to jail, Kirk will just stab us in the back.

BTW, Illinois is not an island. We are ALL effected by what happens there. If you read my link, you’d see how we ended up with Zero.

Kirk lied about his military record. The guy's a big fat fraud who's probably a closet homo.

You're going to wait a long time to find a candidate who's never told a lie. Kirk did serve and did so honorably. For me I'll credit his military service to his bad boy ledger for having lied about some of the details of that service. It's a shame he felt the need to exaggerate in that way, but in the end he apologized. Can't we allow for repentence?

It's certainly better than Giannoulis claiming he had nothing to do with making loans to mob figures when he was a chief loan officer at that bank, then explaining it all away by saying he didn't know "the full extent of their criminal activities" as if he knew some. Then he went on to lie about what years he even worked for the family bank and also appears to have dodged taxes. Yes, I know you're not advocating for Giannoulis, but the point I'm making is Kirk is guilty of some white lying we all have been guilty of as opposed to lying about frankly being an accesory to criminal mob activity. I think we should be much more troubled by a guy willing to wink at criminal activity just to get some business for his family bank than a guy who let his ego get the best of him. The latter indicates a much deeper degree of character dysfunction to my way of thinking.

Kirk won the Republican primary fair and square. It’s done. We are pissed that tea partyers are not getting the full party supporting them once they win primaries. I don’t want to do the same when a RINO wins the primary, especially when said RINO could be the difference between the Republicans taking over the Senate or not.

That being said, Kirk knows that tea partyers will keep their eyes on him, and they have shown they have no problem defeating a sitting senator during a primary. For the first time RINOs will have to protect their right flank.

Could you imagine if the Senate stays in Democrat hands the way the media will portray election day? Obama the come back kid!
