"I have stage 4 cancer and I'm dying."
With those brave words, ELIZABETH EDWARDS acknowledged for the first time that she is losing her battle with advanced breast cancer.
In a dramatic public statement to a luncheon audience on Oct. 7, courageous Elizabeth confirmed a recent ENQUIRER article that her treatments have not been successful.
"The outlook for me is pretty dim unless there are great breakthroughs," said the 61-year-old estranged wife of disgraced presidential candidate John Edwards.
In The ENQUIRER issue that went on sale Sept. 23, we reported that Elizabeth appeared to be "losing her brave battle" and seemed to have lost at least 20 pounds in recent weeks.
Elizabeth revealed she'd been forced to undergo a new round of chemotherapy and spent five hours at the hospital the previous day.
"I'm done," she said.

So will John, Rielle, and little Francis will be attending the funeral?
She has broken her back five times, had both her hips replaced, has survived a benign brain tumor operation, has survived skin cancer, and has faced life-threatening bouts with pneumonia twice. She is reclusive and sometimes fails to make scheduled appearances due to illness or other personal reasons. She now uses a wheelchair and when asked about it she said that she has osteoporosis and was born with scoliosis.
I am sorry. Her poor children. They will be left with their disgusting liar father and his floozy.
you ask “available?”
Guess I’ll watch the full length video. But, people in the short video are saying that they use/used it. They had to get it from somewhere. Seems it is our law making body in congress who denies production and access not the “evil” corporations.
I read somewhere that she took hormone treatments to be able to give her husband that last child, and some theorized those hormone treatments may have brought on the cancer...what a double edged sword if so. The joy of the new child, the sadness of this awful disease. From what I’ve been reading in this blog, this one woman has had enough pain and suffering in her life. I wish her hope that a new treatment will show up before it’s too late.
I’m so very sorry for her children, and for her knowing that she has to leave them. May God bless them and give them comfort!
May she find peace and comfort in her last days.
But you are also right, it can be had, you just have to ignore/avoid the normal process.
And that , in itself, is the answer, we're never going to change "them", however we can ignore & avoid same (if enough do this "they" will wither & die on there own vile vine).
no matter one’s politics. No matter their lives. This is a very terrible and sad ending for anyone. I am pained however that she stood by that lying piece of you know what when he did NOTHING for her or her children.
I am sad for her daughter and two young children. To lose their mother will be devastating and I hope they are preparing themselves and spending every waking hour with her. When she IS called home...she will be with the son they lost and they will be together for all eternity.
Shame on John Edwards. What a poor excuse for a human being he is. Betrays his wife and his children as he did. Lost a son in the process and still didn’t realize the greatest joy in life is family. He’s a person I would not ever want to know.
Stay strong Elizabeth and know it is about time you stood for yourself. We will be praying for you though. May God be with you in these next days, weeks, months ahead. Not only the disease she has to deal with but...knowing she won’t be with her children either. My heart is sad for her.
I hear feminist have a cure...but that is their cure for all men no matter the man's condition.
Wait and see what happens when and if she does die.
Like Teddy, the Swimmer, the Libs will find a way to ignore her defects.
In Elizabeth’s case, this would include her role as a
politically power hungry front woman for her equally dishonest husband..According to insiders, it was she who ran the organization for John’s failed attempts to become President(and her First Lady, of course!)
Adjectives such as “brave, courageous, devoted wife” will pour forth.
“Good mother, loyal campaigner who never complained and stood strong in the face of adversity”
Oprah will have tearful John and Cate on her show to describe her last days and the incredible strength that she exhibited.
Well, one has only to read The Politician, and if one tenth of Andrew Young’s accounts are to be believed, neither “meek” nor “mild” would be appropriate.
Cancer is a horrible disease and noone should have to suffer though it. But there are many heroes who quietly
and nobly struggle to win their fight, without intentionally casting themselves in the public eye.
When Ms. Edwards was diagnosed, if either she or her pompous, cheating husband had had a shred of decency(or real concern for their children), they would have withdrawn from public life and that includes being a candidate for POTUS.
It’s the feminists cure for all men no matter the man’s condition.
LOL, gunsequalfreedom!
And if I’m correct, all of you men reading this, are wincing right now.
Regarding post #51. Well said.
As with most liberals, I suspect it was projection. Let's hope she's used this time to reflect upon the person she used to be, make peace with God, and sincerely change her ways.
Yes, in the IVF world, a lot of people have worried about that. So far, nothing has been proven that IVF fertility treatments cause cancer, but one never knows.
I know she’s not the paragon of virtue but as a mother, I feel for her, leaving her children so young. And I feel for them too. They really don’t have anyone else (well, maybe they do, and I hope so - grandparents or cousins or SOMETHING other than their lying father and his skeezy skank).
