.

Prop guys even took (now mucho valuable) Colt Model 1873 7-1/2” barrel revolvers and removed the ejector rods and used them in lots of Civil War movies as Colt Model 1860 “New Army” cap & ball revolvers

As a result prop guys now buy Colt SA clones made by Ruger and several Italian firearms replica manufacturers

One thing about the old Civil War and Old West movies - in the 19th century black powder was used - and a huge cloud of dirty black smoke was discharged with every pull of a trigger

This made a great target as it located the hapless shooter’s position - and it also made a 2nd shot a joke for accuracy

My c.1898 vintage hogleg is worth a ton of green now and serves as a mucho persuasivo paperweight

Paperweight? I thought it hung in a holster. It's getting closer to you, lol.

I knew about the ‘cloud of black powder’, must have picked up that tidbit over time. I know your Colt is valuable and you bought it long ago. Those who can't afford the real buy the replicas. That holds true for almost anything.
