Is the push for gay "marriage" just another push by statists for more big government? Free Talk Live examines the issue.
No.... it degrades marriage..
Most gay people I know, don’t agree with it. The issue is insurance benefits..
That’s the point. The gov. wants to take over marriage.
I think any government involvement in marriage is de trop.
That said, same-sex “marriage” is stupid and pointless. If you are a single adult, you have the right to marry any consenting, single adult of the opposite sex. You have that right regardless of your sexual orientation, and if it’s not convenient to your chosen lifestyle, you don’t have to get married.
If you change an ancient definition to please one group, you have to be willing to do the same for all other groups, or else you have a legitimate case of discrimination.
It can result in the government and society of Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World”.
Pregnancy is meaningless, sex is only for recreation (orgy porgy), all children are state produce grown in an IVF lab, and every person is a ward of the state/property of the state.
Listen to the prodcast. They mention that.
The government has a vested interest in legitimate marriage, i.e. the nuclear family: one man, one woman, and children brought forth in the act of matrimony, preferably “holy matrimony”.
“The family is society’s fundamental, irreplaceable unit. It’s the incubator of character — where children are taught manners, economy, loyalty, faith and love.”

Yes
The gov. has an interest in DESTROYING traditional marriage. They want to destroy the family and make everyone dependent on the gov.
By not defending traditional marriage laws, an illegitimate government will do just that, as shown in the previously attached article by Don Feder:
"After the courts delivered a series of body-blows to marriage over the past four decades -- with no-fault divorce, abortion, the de facto legalization of pornography and legitimizing cohabitation -- the justices thought: Oh, what the hell, what harm can there possibly be in opening the honorable estate to members of the North American Man/Boy Love Association and Dykes on Bikes?"
You don’t think that the government was involved in marriage 200 years ago?
The gov. wants to be MORE involved in marriage.
I know that conservatives and traditional old fashioned Americans, all want to firmly define marriage, in these post, 1960s, libertarian/leftist, days when American culture is being dismantled.
